What type of numbers are people seeing on a TD45 Dyno? We are curious as we have gotten some awesome numbers but want to make sure we are in the range that people will be expecting.
The best number I got is 160 Watt @ 30 AMP with 7.0 V

i dunno, i was hoping at least someone would start coming up with new tricks for this fantastic little motor. we run a 23 turn class in New Zealand and every lil bit helps to stay competitive

Where I come from ratio of 4.xx = smoke = new motor soon.

I've heard from one of the local guys here says it's possible but it means cutting the comm after every run. Also only for high speed tracks where corners are smooth and wide. He was talking of about 4.8x

Hi all

How much off the pace would a 23turn motor with bearings be compaired to a 19t with bearings, both being spec motors and both having fixed timing.

Thanks

Do you think by putting heatsink and fan will help the motor? so that it won't go smoking? (geared into 4.xx)

I was trying to gear at 4.60,running with heatsink+fan.the motor go smoke in 3 minute of running.the best i can get is 4.80 at my local track.but the comm is showing bit of heat.my motor set-up was Reedy black spring on positive,Reedy red spring on negative, with Reedy 729 brush, the hood is tweaked.

ohh. I'm using tamiya 23t RZ and geared it at 4.46 then i touched the motor and it was hot. but not very hot. maybe its already afternoon that's why it didnt smoke. I think if i want to gear like that i have to put fan..

I'm looking at running a Tamiya TZ motor in a pan car on an indoor carpet track 80' by 32'. Anyone have any idea what sort of rollout I'd need?

I put the motor on a robitronics dyno and got some good torque and power numbers but low RPM. Something like 205Nmm and 160W @26000RPM. Does this low an RPM sound normal for this motor? It is brand new with only a couple of minutes break in time.

somehow i never quite like the newer tamiya's 23Ts either red or blue. RPM readings are about the ballpark figures unless ya willing to polish the shaft, bushings and align the hoods. If not running tamiya sanctioned races, you can consider changing the brushes as well...my preference altas hi-silver

Koe, where in KL do you get these Atlas Hi-Silver brushes? Is there a big difference in performance when used as compared to the original brush that comes with any motor?
