the R of the RR..and if it`s the RR which one..the chrome can or the Black chrome can...

if it`s the Chrome RR then it has a 4.5mm Core and you can gear it in the 5.6~6.1 range...... but if it`s the Black Chrome can RR then it has the 3mm Core..and you`ll need to gear it in the 6.2~6.7 Range...

The black chrome can? Is that the Tamiya Grey 23t RR?
What are the differences? (design)
Which makes more RPM, power, eff.

Do you mean by core, that its armature is a thin web? (3mm)
Or something else?

Thanks,
Pizza

Here's my guess at what the motor is for the Nats:

TAMIYA 49288 SUPER STOCK MOTOR TYPE-RR(GUN METAL CASE)

Don't know where you can find it as it is a limited release item "49xxx"

Well I hope you can lad a couple pairs of Putnam Blues and Greens for that RR They work Really Well!!!! .... much more Torque all over the place and it really has its best power when the com is in the 7.4mm~7.5mm Range... but they Arm is gone after that...no torque what so ever,..

and for the brushes...you can mess around with a slightly softer spring on the negative side.. it tried a harder one on the positive side...but it did not do to much to be bothered with..

Thanks for the impho Dave. I look forward to testing with putnams along with the standard array of brushes to see what works best for our layouts. Also, thanks for giving insight on the springs...so if anything, less tension on the negative eh?

These Tamiya motors are weird, last year the best ones were the ones that were run straight out of the box. People were tuning themselves out, and could never quite get it any better than the way it came ...interesting.
