Exclamation hey - dont evah buy an AE servo . . .

Hi guys

I got an "Associated Electrics"; i.e. radio system that came with an AE standard servo. That thing crapped out on my very 3rd run with this only model.

This is wicked stoopid!!!! I tried to concact AE itself, only to get "our poop doesn't stink" and a link for non-warantee repairs. I am NOT spending what they say - ($30 - 150) repair for just their XP3D system standard servo - NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

The stanard servo broke, grinding gears (steering right) after NO CRASH, on its 3rd run, with a TAMIYA BMW Mini Cooper!!!!!! YAAAY!!!

I think that was the WORST EVER servo that I've ever known! (aside from getting an Airtronics system - hell - full of nothing but total problems). I should go back to Futaba . . . . .

I really like the radio system itself, but everything else IMHO wicked sukks - ESP their servos. Obviously, AE is doing a third-party job with their radio gear, but I sure hope 2 hell that they don't ship out a sweet RC8 with POOR QUALITY servos like the one I got!!!!!!!!

YaaaaaaaY - yeah! Thanks for sticking it to me, Team Associted! To think I usedta race the originial '10T in the mid 90's back in Texas!!!!! RADIOS R NOT THEIR EXP!!!!!

I AM WICKED MMMMMAAAADDD!!!!!!!!!

I understand that you're trying to make a point but I can't figure out what the hell you're on about. It's like trying to talk to Lassy.

Proof here that the world is getting dumber by the day.

LOL

Yeah. I wish it was.

Lessons learned - I'm going w/ Futaba servos from now on heh

2 answer your ? I tried to get tech support via the internet, only to get blocked. " THIS PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED" IS ON MY END. YYYAYY!!!!

I guess what I'm saying is that AE doesn't give a hoot about thier support for their radio systems, since they're made thru a third party (obviously not Spectrun, or Futaba.)

MODS - this iz not a radio war. Just feedback from a brand new AE XP3D system. The stanard servo broke, grinding gears (steering right) after NO CRASH, on its 3rd run, with a TAMIYA BMW Mini Cooper!!!!!! YAAAY!!!

So.... long story short... you crashed your car, causing the steering servo to strip gears, and now your mad that Associated won't replace it for free?

Here's an idea, purchase a servo thats up to the task of steering. Better yet, one with metal gears. A Futaba S3005 can be had for $35.

dragnse7en

you probably got the point - if you just stop by and diss a big brand's products like this in a childishly written thread, you usually get this kind of reaction. Granted, a servo can go poop without warning although this is fairly rare... however if you just say "airtronics/sanwa is just crap too is sukks futaba rulz" then you are completely decredibilizing (sp?) yourself... and then you get slammed out.

Go get yourself another standard servo for $10 and stop hitting boards j/k

later

The XP3D radio system does not come with a servo.

I'm wicked sorry you're wicked mad at the wicked "stoopid" servo. If Associated were wicked smart they would give you a new wicked servo with free wicked fast shipping.
