Default How to really improve your company's market share in the R/c community

Instead of sponsoring dozen`s if not hundreds of sponsored driver`s to promote your products......(expensive and ineffective)

Make a company program that will give substantial discounts to hobby shop & track employees in order to promote your products more effectively...

Will make real results for your company !

These store & track employees will promote your products directly to your customer`s and bring brand loyalty gains that will insure your products success ....

Just a idea ....

Would work though .....

Many different levels of sponsorship available though most R/c manufactures.

Yes ! There are hundreds of sponsored driver`s out there...

Thing is, how effective are they really being towards marketing a company's products ?

Go to your local bike shop...

Cannondale offers a similar program for Bike shop employees...

Guess what ?

These shop employess now buy Cannondales with their discount and as result push Canondales over other the brands because that's what they ride now...

Brand Loyality

Well My Sweet #!*#!!!!!!!! Inovation in Promotion?!?!?

It seems to me that every involved in this industry agrees on only one thing.

" This hobby needs promotion and exposure in order to grow."

Sure one day in the undetermined future we (the hobbiests) will have our place in the spotlight on ESPN or SPEED TV or both, but until then why not come up with new ways to create exposure.

Now, I dont know that throwing product at every screwball hobby shop employee or owner would do just a whole lot, but working directly with shops that put out the effort to run races and put on exposure generating demos seems like a good way to go.

The current practice that some companies are in (just sending out some stuff to give away) hasn't seemed to produce much in the past nor do I expect it to do much in the future. So whay not take a new approach with these events and realy get on board?

Possablilities;

Sponsor comercials.

Send company reps to meet with and promote directly to spectators.

Higher a team of experienced personel to put on a race in the parkinglot of some high exposure shops (who otherwise would have nothing) maybe once or twice per qtr.

Anything but the same old routine!

I would say it works good, as for the 100's of sponserd drivers....I beg to differ, 75% are 50 off guys, another 15% are 75 off guys....just better than hobby shop pricing and then the last 10% are top pros, who have many full rides to help cover expences like travel as well as take home a pay check. the 50% off guys hurt nothing, infact most of them are just loyal racers who have invested more of there own money than anyting else.

Bringing the sport to the masses, is the key... this sport is to $$$ for average joe racer. also it is hard to find, highly marketable drivers to bring outside investors to the hobby....(sorry fellas) but it might be true...

Cute girls with tight shirts and short shorts always made me throw my money away. Could these be your new product reps.

Not an insult, just a joke, and a difference in opinion.

And Yes, I will go see the new Night Rider flick.

take a minute and go back and read what mr. cherry just suggested.

ok, so i own R&R motors and batteries, in order to get my product on the shelf and pushed at his hobby store/track, i would need to sponser him or has he put it, give him a discount.

so now my buddy that owns (insert name here) motors and batteries wants to get his product in and pushed at mr. cherrys hobby shop/track, seems now, (insert name here) and I are going to be in a bidding war for mr. cherrys attention. so instead of just giving him a discount, i give him free product, well now (insert name here) gives him free product and a 250.00 a month kick back. well i up it to 500. and on and on and on, until one of gives up and goes after another hobby store and has to continue the bidding war with someone else. so now you, the customer must pay 98.00 for that new motor to cover my cost of having my product in mr cherrys store.

sounds like another great idea to me.

how much does a bicycle cost now a days? i guess this explains why.

maybe not, maybe i just like to argue to geo.

(and of course i know there are sponsered drivers working for hobby shops/tracks already)

just having fun here.

Why not drop sponsorships entirely and pass on the savings to the customer? There's way more privateer racers out there than sponsored folks, and they'll let people know if your stuff is good.
