how bout acetone for metals like bearings? no motors

I don't see that being a problem, however, acetone by nature is an aggressive solvent, though I don't think it should affect the metal ball bearings, though I wouldn't use it on rubber sealed or the like

acetone melts plastic, and superglue as well, how it reacts to rubber i have no idea, but if possible i would avoid using acetone, like what hawker said, its an aggressive solvent.. and not to mention the fumes can cause serious health problems.

yeah k

i just got that from my mom (chemist) never to use with plastics/rubbers it could melt it no problem. Just takes a while.
but there are a couple of plastics it wont melt.
