Default Xray T1r Vs Tc3 Factory Team Kit

can any one tell us what would be better out of T1R or TC3 FT in performace for 540 stock and modified becasue i want a car which can be suited for all classes and be competitive in all classes. and how do they compare to the evo III ??

thanks Matt

Default It personal preference.

I have owned all 3 cars and I personally like the T1r the best. They all have thier strong points and personally I liked the way the t1r is in regard to fit of parts and when it comes to my driving style.Cant go wrong with any of them though.

Default t1r

If you use the 1.77 pullies in the T1r there will be no advantage to the shaft cars.

Well, it really depends. The answer is that, your local hobby store carry the most parts in, and if the LH can not get certain parts for your car, so that really depends. For myself, I own 5 Xray's, and I like the car's performance, at this time I'm trying to finish off the T1R chassis before this weekend.

Well, I'm a bais to the Xray, but the TC3 is a great car too. For what I have been seeing on the track and seen it happen, the TC3 was breaking faster, (unless you're not touching the boards ). The T1R is a good buy, and if you get the 1.77 ratio pulley set, it's just as fast, or faster then the TC3. Lets say you're going to buy the TC3 TF, the car is gonna cost more then the T1R. The T1R out of the box is supposed to be great for the price.

The 1.77 pulleys cost about 29.99 from Xray it self. The T1R is pretty strong, a friend of mines race with this car, and he had a radio glitch, and the car went straight to the curb, and nothing was broken. At least that what I saw. I'm not saying that the Xray is indestructable, everything breaks when you do hit something hard enough, and sometimes you glaze the boards and break too. I'm not saying bad things about any cars out there, it's just my preferrence. To me Xray is the best car on the market.

Matt,
Just as a comparison for you My brother and I have a Brushless system in our cars (T1R and my Shaft drive Tamiya TB Evo II) and on the track running together they are basically neck and neck all the way. The Evo II has it slightly in acceleration but only slightly. Both cars are geared with the recommended FDR of 7.3:1 (or there abouts) as stated in the Novak Manual.
So basically We have not noted any great difference in Shaft over Belt when comparing the two Identically powered cars..
