Some people out there must still be running these, and for those of us who are left running them until we finally move on to something else, we need to work together.

I am running an IWC, recently I got an Aluminum Bulkhead, and Trinity rear Aluminum hinge pin brace. I would suggest staying with a composite bulkhead, because you are more likely to break graphite a-arms and have ball cups come off when it is hard aluminum with no give.

I am having a problem with my car going too wide in the corners, and it is killing my time. With my MVP and Take Offs and Aluminum Robinson Pinion, I am as fast as any local on our track in the straight.

Do you adjust your diffs? What is the general rule of thumb on those?

That is a very tempting way to go. I was wondering if the place that I am moving to, since the local track is off road, if they run rally races there. If so, I wouldn't have to completely get rid of my IWC, but I could just convert it with a few parts here and there.

Does anyone know what all parts need to be converted besides shocks?

nope, you guys missed one more difference.
the rear hubs new. They allow the suspension to droop lower without binding the universals

That is the best place to find used Rally Weapons!

Just as interesting aside. I have a poor friend who has a problem with a stripped out SW rear shock tower. What is your best fix for that? Obviously replace it is the best, but he is poor. I have thought about suggesting larger screws. Anything else?

Im sorry about the shock tower you friend has. His only maybe other alternative may be to shove some broken toothpicks and try a larger screw. Then try forcing it in the hole and hope the toothpicks will give the screw more bite.

I KNOW EBAY IS THE GREATEST SOURCE FOR RALLY WEAPONS! LIKE THE ABSOLUTE BEST! hehehe, you can get a BRAND NEW RALLY WEAPON for less than a 100 bucks, and that's not even hard to do. Most of the auction always end under 100 anyways!
But, i think I'll stick to my C4. Maybe if I get bored of my BL system in my touring car, I'll buy a Rally Weapon and experiment.

Cmotif,

I have had my RW sice the week it was released. I was one of the unfortunate people that paid full price... 165 I think.. Even paying that much, I love my RW. I have had or driven almost every electric Rally car out there, and the RW is my favorite. You can get parts for it ... pretty much anywhere, and really cheap.. but here is the thing, I rarely break anything. I have run this car on 1/8 scale buggy tracks ( what a hoot see my Ford Fungus Passing a stadium truck)..

Sure there are some issues with it...
1. Wrenching to get to the diffs or belt is a headache... but u do get good a at it (just like a SW)
2. If you do happen to beak a shock shaft and want the OEM replacement, you have to buy a whole set of RW shocks.
3. Efficency is not as great as the two belt, or shaft cars.
4. Not that many people run them, so setups are not as common as say an HPI.

But I still thnks the upsides are greater.
1. Handle like a dream.
2. XX4 and SW big brother are world championship cars.
3. Fully sealed drive train that stays sealed
4. Plenty of hop-ups to make it lighter and faster
5. Tough as nails

I have two Street Weapons (1 "stock", 1 IWC) AND a Rally Weapon. I got the SW's used from a guy on eBay as my first cars near the beginning of the summer, and the RW I picked up on eBay new.

The stock SW has since been upgraded with a graphite chassis, Josh Cyrul Circuit Killer kit, aluminum rear 1.5 deg. hubs, and RPM standard wheel adapters. I'm setting up that car for carpet, using the IWC outside.

The Rally Weapon kicks tail too; My first time out, my car was not only hanging with - but passing - the HPI's on the track. I was doing well this past week, too - but while leading the B-main by like 30-40 seconds, I broke a front hub ring and lost steering. The track I was running is brutal though, so it's not as if the part was at fault. Check out pics at http://photos.yahoo.com/jaibee70 (The Checkerboard folder) for over 100 pics of the most insane rally course you're likely to ever see.

As for the parts for the conversion, Porky's right - you need the lowered hubs too. By the time you buy a new shock set, springs, and hubs, you may as well try to snag the whole kit - I got mine for $69.99!

I've got pics of my Rally and Street Weapon cars at http://photos.yahoo.com/sixandeightstringer if you're interested.
