No the SPX donīt replace the TC. From what I have seen from their catalogue the SPX is the same as a Sphere with just the reverse added.

no it will not replace the sphere tc!!
the spx is a cheaper version - with not that high power products in it like the sphere tc has.
it also has got a reverse...as already told

the stock spec spx is faster with stock motors. this is the one without reverse.
The ones with revers are quit the same as the tc but they arn't faster with the stock motors like the stock spec.
the faster one has purple letters

For anything below 10.5 I believe most are running profile 7. But it depends on driving style, class and track size. Nobody reconnmends profile 8 FWIW. Way to much RPM!

I use 8 on my SPX Stock Spec ESCs with 13.5 motors in my RDX Phi and 17.5 motors with my Gen-X 10. Am geared down 4-5 pinion teeth (from what I used with my Sphere ESCs) to get incredible punch for the infields. Both cars are used for carpet and asphalt.

Don't know of anyone here using less than the 8 punch setting.

If I am mainly running 10.5 and some stock. Is the SPX recommended? Right now I am using the sphere and I bought a SPX reverse from someone for cheap as a backup. But I am a little curious about the SPX stock. My main questions is that will I feel a difference in this new speedo? Is it worth the money on trying?

The SPX and the SPX reverse are not the same. The SPX Competition is the one you want for Spec racing.

Don't think that anyone considers the 10.5 to be a "stock" motor any longer.

And sell the SPX Reverse...for cheap to someone that needs it.

So profile 6-7 is a safe starting point I assume... what about the ratio? How much difference do I have to gear compared to the regular Sphere?

Lets say for example if I run 5.2 fdr for the regular Sphere, would I be able to maintain this ratio with the SPX or should I alter it?

Yes that would be a good starting point on profiles. You will need to drop a tooth or two with profile 6 and probably 3 teeth on profile 7.

This weekend I ran my new LRP SPX with an LRP 17.5 Stock 1/12 racing, and it felt slower than my LRP Sphere Comp.

I was running an 83.5mm rollout on the Sphere Comp. Started the SPX with a 81.8mm rollout on Profile 6. Changed to profile 7 and dropped the rollout to 80mm and left if there for the day. The change from 83.5 to 80mm was only a 2-tooth drop on the pinion.

Question - On profile 7 with the SPX, should I be dropping the rollout even more?
