Wow, I wonder if this design would take off into the touring scene. An active center diff (like 1/8 nitro offroad counterparts) would definitely stir things up!!!

To do that they significantly raised the roll center.

Given that the drive shaft cuts across the battery, I wonder what the largest size LIPO you could fit in there would be.

Kregg, If you see there is about 1cm at lowest between the battery and the drive shaft. I bet if you tried you could fit an SMC LiPo.

Yeah but what size. It looks like nothing larger than a 4000.

Basically the same layout as the latest 4wd offroad cars that use shaft drive. A bit fancy for a drift car... I could see this becoming touring car in the future. I bet I could fit my Maxamps 6000 lipo under that rear drive shaft. Looks like plenty of room. With some simple changes, I bet saddle packs would fit in there.

I agree. This is a bit of over-kill for a drifter. With the minimal requirements it takes to set up a quality slide ride, I really don't see the sense of this chassis unless you like all the pretty parts, and have throw away loot to spend. Looks like it would make for a better grip racing chasis at club levels. ...JMO.
