Default Tire choice

Since more and more tires are becoming to be unobtaniums, what is the next choice of brand? Some of my fellow racers went into panic mode and bought as many RP tires they could find to brave the storm. I caught on too late, and there are no RP/Takeoffs on the market these days. I guess I have to go with the next best, which is Sorex. Sorex is a good brand, but it does not do as good as thr RPs did.

What are your guys take on radials on a sugar water track on asphalt?

Oh, and what's the best dish rim to go with? I heard of some company that uses a special plastic that seems to work well with our application.
thanks

Im sure there are some places that still have RP and CS tires in stock. That would be my first choice. Then wait to see what happens with the new compounds people are bringing out. If you have to go Sorex go with a hard compound like 36.

Schumancer USA has ~1000 4pks of RP36GL in stock. Thats what we ran at the ROAR Nats in 2005 at SpeedWorld in Roseville, CA. The tires are awesome on asphalt at any temperature.

Have your LHS call Schu USA at 813-889-9691 or call them yourself and get some if they won't.
