Default 12th scale gearing need help ASAP!

its my first raceon saturday and i want my car to be fast. im geared 22/75 rite now (27t) im wanting to know what you guys run and how punchy and fast it is.

That gearing puts you somewhere around 1.60 inch rollout. Depending on the type of track, that sounds a little low. A Monster Stock seems to like 1.65 to 1.75, and a CO27 seems to like 1.75 to 1.85 inch rollouts.

+1...those rollouts are pretty close to what we run. 40x80 carpet track.

Rollout is the distance the tires will move the car for 1 revolution of the motor. The formula takes into account Tire size, spur/pinion, and transmission ratio (this case 1:1)

As with most algebra there are a few correct variations depending on the known variables. I use the following plugged into a spread sheet

(pinion*tire Dia*Pi)
spur gear

Measure tire Dia in units desired for rollout...ie. inches or mm
