What do you guys think? Might be good for practice packs or club racing. I have some Yeah racing lipos on my 18th scale and they held up pretty good.

Check it out

How nice is that. The chinese push there product to battery companies and then undercut them immediately following. I never saw that happening.

Protc3, I haven't seen any U.S. company with a pack that looks like that.

Don't the orion 3200's look like that?

All of the Lipo packs are imported from china. I get around 15 emails a day from chinese companies trying to sell me there lipo packs and bearings. This doesnt effect me because i dont sell batteries and i get my bearings from boca bearing but for the companies who are importing these packs are going to pretty pissed.

LMAO!!! This is what our politicians call GLOBALIZATION. I can only suspect that Team Orion is on the phone right now trying to get through to their supplier in Shanghai. The supplier is on the other end playing stupid and saying "No hablo englais". This will make a great SNL skit.

Thank goodness BMI decided to invest and design and manufacture their products in house.

The sad part is that I own the Orion 3200 and the new 3600. I will probably hold off on ordering the CORE 5000 and wait for RCMarket.com to sell a carbon cased 6000 mah 21C version for $19.99. The LiPo will be called CARe 6000.:)

I've seen how Harbor Freight has destroyed my construction industry by selling cheap knockoff Makita tools. They couldn't even have the decency to get the blue plastic the right shade.

I am going downstairs right now and hug my XRAY 008.:D

:lol: Gotta love it huh:lol::lol::lol: I have to watch so much manufacturing going overseas putting alot of companies in financial trouble. Now we are starting to see the investors feeling it. As i have stated many times, everyone will feel the effects of free trade in time.

rcarmchl 02-27-2008 07:34 AM

the dimensions of this pack are the same as the orion - at least according to their respective websites.

or8ital 02-27-2008 07:44 AM

Makes you wonder how much the US companies are marking these things up for their support/marketing.

glassdoctor 02-27-2008 08:09 AM

Guys, this is not an Orion 3200... but it DOES appear to be the CORE 3250 that Schumacher is importing. I would be a little pissed if I were them.

I wonder how long the price will be $50 or if it will stay at the $35 sale price?

I also wonder if the cells inside are the same or if they just have the same case? The pack is only as good as what's inside...

syndr0me 02-27-2008 08:18 AM

I believe Orion buys its cells and cases from Kokam, which is a Korean company.

The thing about inexpensive LiPo packs is what cells you're getting. There are some really cheap, scary cells out there.

Considering a distributer buys them in big volume and lays out a bunch of money for that. Then they need to advertise which is extremely expensive(magazine adds can range from $500-$2000 a month) and then package the product if its not done already. Now they need to discount for the hobby stores at usually 50% off retail. How much do you really think they make off of them after all of this? Pretty soon we will all see that it is not worth the agrivation to import from overseas. This will be a good day.
