you *can* run the old jrxs arms, but you'll have to adjust the inner suspension pivots. should say how to do it in the manual...

but the longer arms are part of the updated suspension geometry. the newer arms, from around May~ish of last year are almost indestructible and much stronger than the older graphite arms.

and if Russ says they're almost indestructable, you can believe he's tested them repeatedly

RussB, there is no doubt that about whether I will buy the Type R or not its a done deal in my mind just had to convince the Boss(Wife) and it will have to wait until after we buy our house. The Type R will be mine Oh yes. For now I will get my skills up with my Tamiya TT-01 and go on from there. It just surprised me when I watched the show that there was no mention of the Type R at all especially since it won some races, BUT everyone else down to the Novak specialist was being interviewed. How is Speedworld coming along by the way. I just started a job as a student assistant with the state and going to school full time so I have not been able to get out there, but I did see the pics of the tear down over the weekend.

I got the arms on ebay, so they could very well be the older production run repackaged to look new.

I'll have to order some directly from horizon and put them on the car for this summer is there something identifiable i can look for to separate the new from the old?

BTW the picture in my sig is of a broken rear arm on my pro hahah that was actually caused by a mosquito that bit me in the middle of the forehead at a race and i took my hand off the wheel and ran full speed into the wall at an angle and it broke an arm....

Since reading through this thread i've decided to keep and run the type-r this summer against the 008 onslaught .
