Default Difference Between LRP and Novak Speeders

Is there a difference between the Novak GTB and the LRP tc spec! I run 4 cell 13.5 oval and was told that there is a advantage to running a LRP 007 with a Novak 13.5 over running the GTB!???

Default was told by locals and novak different stories

I was told by novak that there are differences in drive frequency but a avg guy should not feel difference

my local guys explained as the novak drive frequency is fixed and the lrp is constantly adjusting itself which means I think as your going down straight or on throttle it is adjusting the drive frequency and you gain a few tenths per lap over 5 mins that could and normally matters

if im wrong now you will get response you wanted hard to get questions answered on here

Novak GTB = very reliable and effective Brushless ESC
LRP TC Spec = slightly less reliable (from what I've seen and read) but faster.

Before Speed Passion hit the scene, the hot ticket has been the LRP TC Spec and the Novak BL motors.

Hmm the LRP is by far more reliable than the GTB, but I own the Speedpassion GT now and i love it!! I think is by far the best ESC out in the market now.

Just a couple of performance things:

1) I tested the Novak and LRP on a Turbodyno about a month or so back. The Novak made more power on the dyno and was more efficient. They were within 2 watts on power though. The LRP ran about 2000 rpm higher to make the same power (more timing?). (both with a Novak 13.5)

2) All of the "punch" settings on the LRP were within a couple of watts of each other on the dyno. Just changed the RPM and moved the efficiency around.

3) Go with the manufacturer that YOU have luck with. I'm still running my original 4 cell GTB but I have 3 blown up LRP's. I know that some have blown up Novaks but I haven't.

4) Yes, how long the speedo lasts is part of the perfromance.

Ill have to say Ive tried a GTB and the LRP 07 and TC spec. I can consistently run a tenth faster with the LRP ESC, and running oval a tenth is huge, adds up quick when youre running 4.1-4.3 sec laps

This is what I'm looking for! Yes a 10th does matter in pan car and that is what I'm chasing right now! One of the guys I run with claims that the lrp is worth a 10th and I did not beleive him!!! Now I think I do! I am not trying to get the classic my losi is better than your Associated or Revo vs LST fight thing going here. I honestly wanted to know if there was a difference! Thank you for all your thoughts on the matter! It is a great help!

I run both in my Son's cars - w/ the LRP i run on average 2 teeth lower gear.

I like the ease of the GTB for setup over the LRP, but feel they both will run the same speeds, but it takes a little different gear to get there.
