That's very old news. I've had one for over two months now.
I ordered it from RcModel in HK. $300.00 shipped priority to my door. The upperdeck is not included. Optional part from Hot Bodies.

Not a whole lot. No major weight savings. Just looks cool.

yeah i really just like the way it looks. later on i will get the aluminum front bulkheads front and back and get teh upper supports with them so i dont have to wory about the diff cover.

i just bought 4 battery packs, so when i have some money i will get the kai chassis from rcmodel and i will get the alluminum bulkheads. do you guys think it is necessary for the graphite front and rear braces from penguin? i was thinking of just buying the whole penguin kit. how good is it compared to the kai chassis?

later

I like the braces a lot- weight savings and much stiffer. probably cheaper than the hpi alloy ones too. I would wait though- there is something on the horizon that will be better than anything out right now.... I f you want to save extra weight change out the plastic shock towers for the new carbon hpi ones- probably weighs a third of stock.

Default My opinion on the Custom Graphite Chassis

Hello!!!!!

My friend arrived from HK and I finally got the Chassis from Control Centre!!!!

After rebuilding my new car to its new chassis!!!! It looks like heaven!!!!!! heheheheheheeh!!!!!

Though!!!!! The front to rear flex is still there, and the side to side flex also but when I place my HB upper deck and aluminum battery holder----NO MORE FLEX AS IN NADA!!!!!

the kit now looks so racy hehehehe, hope my driving skills improve also!!!!!

I was able to save about 300 grams from my old chassis that is with all the hop ups available!!!!! my car now weights at 1.560kilos with 3000niMh bats!

For the guys who wants more air into the car I have installed an upper front and rear differential upper support from jet!!!! even if its aluminum, if you use it you will still save weight by about 50grams!!!! If you weight the stock diff cover, that is heavy!!!! and using this exposes the diff.

and for the new 3degree block from jet!!!! once I installed it, all my car wanted to do is--TURN!!!! turning seems to be easier and faster!!!

will take a photo of my car and try to post it here(i just do not know how)

Default mikeR,

i think i saw a pic of your car..and it had a C/F strip bolted on the batt strap ....i guess you tried to stiffen the car out a little with this..?? ..does it work ..or is it just there ..just to try to stiffen the car out!??
----
the front alloy bulkheads help to stiffen the front...

Lem - I think you're exagerating your weight savings a little there.

To put it into perspective, my pro3 , with 3000 HV's, the HPI graphite chassis, a top deck, a three-piece motor mount, the ally spur mount and anti-roll bars, weighs in just under 1,500gms.

I run 100/37 w/a P2K2.

I just received the Orion Core stock motor-dyno tuned version. using the same gearing the car is faster.

If you look closely at the pics, you can see Hara and Umino.
See the first row 1st pic on the right. and 5th row 1st pic on the left. These shots were taken before the Norcca Sedan world cup of last year. Today... the track is slightly bigger now.

MR-4M- The carbon strip is attached (like a bridge) to keep the battery strap from flexing upward in the middle. The battery strap is actually what keeps the car from flexing front to back- with the addition of some spacers in back of the battery strap and the carbon strip it fits very snugly into place now and works better than the tork rods as a stiffener while still allowing lateral flex. The new carbon strap would probably work as good now ...

dang this is making me mad...i go on the rc model sight and when i go to shop there all the us prices are the hong kong prices and all the hk prices are the us prices. so it says that a set of 4 tires would cost like 118.00 in us but 16.00 in hk. do you think they would charge that much becasue the sight is messeed up?

anyway, they have a set of 4 tires for only llike 16.00! i am going to get them for sure. that is a hell of a deal! well talk to ya later

To work out the overall ratio...

(Spur size/pinion size) x Final drive ratio (which in the case of the pro3 is 2.25)
