Thanks for all the replies Guys,

I'll try and pick up some RPM ball cups. I did that mod to an old TC3 and that did the trick, the AE ball cups never lasted long before they would get worn. I wonder if RPM do the ball cups in purple?
I received some extra shims with my V Spec Pro3. I wonder if the where for the CVD axles? I'll give them a try.

The O-ring is also a good idea. It is something that Shumacher employs on their kits and coming to think of it the kits I have had in the past were slop free.

I'll order the HPI woven graphite chassis. I have the HB upper deck but I was concerned that there was less room for electrics on the HPI chassis versus the HB.

I have put the Xray to bed for the time being. Back to the Pro3 for Sunday's meeting.

HPI Challenge!!

HPI GUys,

I just purchased a MINT bone stock Pro3 to do the HPI Challenge race in Michigan this summer!! I am thinking of doing Electric Sport to keep my costs way down.

Four Questions please!!:

1. Am I allowed to run a one-way in Electric Sport?

2. What are the popular HPI bodies for Large-treated Asphalt roadcourse?

3. What shock pistons and what weight oil is s great starting point? Also-what brand of oil? I have all of the AE and Trinity oils.

4. What rollout or gear ratio do you recommend for Monster Stock motor-rubber tires?

Thanks guys,
Ray

1. NO...I think car has to be run box-stock as is.
2. Stratus the Ford Mondeo or Alfa works well.
3. #3 piston with 35wt - 40wt oil all around.
4. I run a P2K2 at around 6.00+/- final drive

'coz of the soft chassis the car is easy to set-up

here's are the rules:

CAR
- Standard RS4 Sport, RS4 Sport 2, RS4 Pro 2, RS4 Pro 3, Sprint and RS4 Rally cars only
- Max Width = 200mm
- Ball bearings are allowed as direct replacement for standard bushings on the RS4 Sport only
- Saddle pack battery conversion is allowed (plastic battery cradle (#A372) and hook-and-loop straps (#6152)) for RS4 Sport 2, Sprint, or RS4 Pro chassis (#A560) for RS4 Sport or RS4 Rally)
- No other modifications or structural changes - kit springs must be used (yellow Sprint springs for Sprint, silver for all other cars)

BODYSHELLS
- Any 190mm or 200mm HPI bodyshells (including the HPI Rally bodyshells)
- See the Bodies rule section, above for complete regulations on the bodies

TIRES
- 1/10 scale touring car HPI tires must be used
- 1/10 scale touring car HPI wheels must be used

MOTORS
- An unaltered ROAR-legal 24 degree 27-turn, single wind REBUILDABLE motor must be used, because this allows easier inspection and teardown

Good luck at the race!

Thank you for the fast reply!! Race is far, far away-but I have learned when racing on a tight budget-buy everything early and slowly!!! And just to prove what a dork I am-I'll start a manila folder with set-up info-rules, etc. today!!! hahaha!!! Or else my leaky brain cells will forget all this great info!!
Thought of another question. n e the rims-do I buy 0-offset? Also-do you recommend 24 or 26mm rims?

Thanks again,
Ray

0 offset for 190mm bodies
3mm offset for 200mm bodies.
stay with the standard 24mm tires and wheels.

HPI 33R w/green inserts work very well on asphalt parking lot tracks. if its cold in the am..probably 27R with red or greens.

If you bend the Shiny CVD's straing you'll stand a chance of breaking them or making them weak in that area.. .. But if you have to try to use a vice to bend it back....
BTW are these for a Pro3..??

Exclamation re: bent cvd's

a bent cvd will incure some power loss with each rotation, i think it can cause some wobble & suspension play. its a good idea to replace that cvd

thats what i think

Better safe than sorry... Replace it ....

BTW every time I screwed up a CVD it took the Outdive out also .... 1 hit = bent CVD and 1 toasted outdrive
