New protoform body??

1 Attachment(s)
Just wanted to see if anyone had information about this body. This picture was from another racing thread. Looks similar to the Alex racing body, but note the huge Protoform sticker on the side.

Brian McGreevy 02-20-2008 10:19 PM

Dale wouldn't make anything that ridiculous.

adamge 02-20-2008 10:29 PM

Cab-forward design with lots of trunk space.

miccal 02-21-2008 12:58 AM

It is the Alex Racing Design LX-250 body for sure.

revrace 02-21-2008 06:59 AM

It definately looks like the Alex Racing Body (which I can't find here in the US...help please) but the huge Protoform sticker on the side is a little deceiving. Either way, I like it.

mac853 02-21-2008 07:23 AM

Ah ah, with Protoform decal to pretend to be from this brand, driver of this car is really smart, joking!
But where took this picture?
As we could see maybe is in Asia.;)

revrace 02-21-2008 08:47 AM

I believe the race was in Thailand

daveaustin5 02-21-2008 09:29 AM

It's from the TITC race in Thailand.

Guys! OK - you caught me. The secret release of a new Protoform body. Can't get away with anything with this here fangle Internet thing.

I thought I'd debute the all new 2009 Protoform El Camino ClubCab sedan :weird: body in Thailand. It seems that they really like that "look" over there. I sure did hope you guys would like it as much as the racers in Asia.

Na - just messin with ya. It probably just an mis-decaled Alex Racing thingamabob body named after the very beautifull Lexus IS 250/350.

Brian McGreevy - thanks for your vote of confidence. Nicest thing I've heard today. ;)

i thought they had grafted a silverado (i wish it was still made) and a mazda...

squarehead 02-21-2008 01:17 PM

Damn, I was hoping to see a 1970 Boss 302 or a 1970 AMX Javelin for the growing Trans Am class. ;)

John Tag 02-21-2008 01:24 PM

Dale ,when will your bodies be re-summited for roar approval. Also what bodies do you plan to re-sumit for the Rubber touring type bodies..THX

daleepp 02-21-2008 02:38 PM

GBS Bodies

John Tag;

I'm currently making minor dimensional adjustments to the molds that I want to submit to ROAR for the GBS approval. A little time consuming because of shipping across the country etc. Here's a small list.

#1465-00 - Mazda 6 (rubber tire)
#1487-00 - Mazda Speed 6 (rubber tire)
#1476-01 - Stratus 3.0 AP (rubber tire)

#????-?? - NEW un-named Foam/Carpet Protoform body (3 to 4 weeks away) followed by a "rubber tire" version of the same body style. Both done to GBS configuration.

* Please note: none of the small changes I'm currently making will have any effect on performance.

I sincerely appologies to anyone who has been negatively affected by my inability to get these (GBS/ROAR re-approvals) all done on time or at very least a bit sooner. Since Sept 2006 my priorities have needed to be a bit "divided" unfortunately. Sometimes life throws us a few unexpected "curves" and forces us to focus on things that we normally take for granted.

Thanks for your patience - Dale - Protoform

John Tag 02-21-2008 02:42 PM

Its not a Protoform body. It just had a Protoform sticker on it.

Last I heard Dale is working on Off Road and Pro-10 200mm bodies right now.

Found this New R9-F body on Horizon Hobby. Not on pro-line site yet. Any news, pics, info? Foam, rubber, carpet etc...

I think there are a few new bodies (200mm Pan car) but the R9-F is the one I'm interested in:D

It should be unveiled this week at the RCX show in LA.

FOXY923 04-16-2008 09:41 AM

Hope it looks nice, I've already put my order in:sneaky:

daleepp 04-17-2008 02:43 PM

New R9-F sedan body

Photo's should be posted any time. Everyone at Proline has been flatout busy with RCX preparation all week - thus the delay.
The photo's of the Protoform new releases are not the usual studio shots - just a few shots I took myself in the parking lot. I'm currently in California for the show etc but I'll be flying back home on monday and taking a few better photos next week. Thats the situation with the April 07 releases - the #1497 R9-F, the #1499 200mm Corvette C6-R (for new World GT class) and the new #1228 F-MD Nationside Series style oval body.

The name of this sedan? The all new R9-F (the "F" is for foam) is a carpet/foam specific body. The R9-R ("R" is for "rubber version") will hopefull be released on May 15th.

The new oval body is a "medium downforce" body that's best suited for most oval stock car classes other than the modified class.

Thanks for the interest shown by many of you - and sincerely sorry for the delay.

And hopefully a Proline 808 CP body too eh?;) I am not fond of the stock 808 body...

I got to see the new R9F this past weekend at my track when he was getting it ready for the photo shoot and looked very promising, Dale did an excellent job designing it.

Both are not Global Spec Legal for IFMAR, ROAR or EFRA and neither works as well as a Protoform Speed 6 or Mazda 6.
