Just started building a new 12R5.1 and to my dissapointment. I am missing a screw from bag B and another is not the stated legnth. I know it's only a couple of screws but I am only on the second bag. And now I guess I will have to make a trip to a hobbies shop to buy a couple of new screws or more not easily done right now. I have built several AE offroad vehichles and have not had this problem. Has anyone else had this problem. Don't mean to wine.

Check the other bags and you will find them. When you get close to the end you will find you were missing (2) 3 x 5 flat heads tho. Out of 4 kits that was the only missing parts and all were missing them.

Since were on the topipc I suppose I'll mention my recent kit build. A newer racer at our track asked me to build his 12R5.1 kit and while building it I didn't notice any missing screws, but I did get one shock body that was machined incorrectly (the plastic washer under the o-ring wouldn't fit into the shock body) and one of his shock shafts had the piston epoxied in the wrong spot. I was rebuilding another 12r5 kit for a buddy and noticed his car had the piston also in the wrong spot on the shaft. None of the other cars I have or have seen were that way but it struck me odd that I ran across all three problems in the same week.

Of course a 2 minute call to AE and they shipped me knew ones no hassle or charge.

Just thought I would mention it so others can check and avoid issues down the road.

In talking to my local hobby shop they feel that the quality of some Associated parts and kits has drop off in recent years since Thunder Tiger purchased Associated. They deal with all types of cars and they have to make a lot warranty calls for their customers. I wonder if the problems people are seeing is related to a lower quality in the point of manufacturing.

I have an upper turnbuckle which where the thread appears to be just a set of circles. It's a pain cause i would probably just buy one to replace it but i cant find it in stock anywhere i normally shop, so i gotta send it back to them from australia (although they are happy for me to do that).

I have to say that when i have contacted the service team they have always had fast replies.

Also note the original manual has an error and wrong part number for the Diff D-Rings. Dont know if they fixed the error in the 5.1 manual or not.

I'm with you on that T.
This car is a work of art, the old Corally and 12L's I have seem like dinosaurs in comparison.

The 5 and 5.1 are my first AE 12 scales but I've had other AE cars before TT took them over, TT vehicles and AE vehicles from when TT has taken over. The quality of product has gone up, without question. The quality control has gone down, as in you may be missing a couple of screws or a certain part has been machined wrong. With that being said, give them a call and it's all fixed. They are very good with their customer service.

That's why I chose to run AE products in the first place.

I definitely wouldn't put the brace in the "needed" category. I got mine by ordering them on back order here. They came in pretty quick.
