Don't know what you consider "solid" but the HobbyPlex in Omaha has been running them for a couple months now (4 cell 13.5). Summers are a little slow racing indoors here but there are I think 9 guys with cars now and a couple more talking about it. We'll probably never get all 9 at once until the fall but we're running. 4 Darksides, 1 BMI, 2 10L3T's, and 2 converted oval cars.

Good to see that you guys have guys who want to run. Its understandable to have trouble drawing considering most people are in an outdoor racing mode. Hopefully when people start hitting the rug again in the fall youll have even more cars ready to go

Ah it's good to be in Southern California, not much rain here and hopefully we can see cooler temps and some great fun on the track.

Come up to NORCAL and run with us!!

Round 3 of the BBR LeMans Cup is in the books!

Here in NCAL we just completed the third race of BBR LeMans Cup series. The series is being held at all of the major tracks/clubs in the Northern California area for a total of eight races.

There are two classes:
Sports prototype Which includes the following bodies. Group C, GTP & Can Am bodies. Power formula is 7.4 lipo and 13.5 or four cell Nmh and 10.5 brushless/19T brushed. 235mm and 200mm

GT Uses the following bodies, Corvette, Ferrari, Viper, etc. Same power formula as the Sports Prototype class but 200mm only. For this year only, we are also allowing touring cars with foam tires as long as they are using a production based, two door sports car based body.

All cars run on the track at the same time with two separate scorings for points in the two classes. At this last race we had the following bodies in the race. Corvette C6, Viper, Callaway Corvette, Lola, Peugeot LeMans, Intrepid GTP and Lotec Group C. There where two Associated 10L3ts, three CRC Gen-X10, three Associated 10L2 and a Serpent S400 touring car. At the last two races, Jim Rose in the Corvette C6/10L3t won overall!!! The Sports Prototype cars are faster due to the high down force bodies but we have had reliability issues. Points are awarded like the old formula 1 scoring system. 1st place = 9 points, 2nd place = 6 points, 3rd place = 4 points, 4th place = 3 points, 5th place = 2 points and 6th place = 1 point.

So... Here are the point standings after three rounds:

SPORTS PROTOTYPE:

Steve Ashby 20 points
William Brown 16 points
Michael O'Donnell 15 points
Jay Sharpe 10 points
Tim Stiles 5 points
Chris Dodson 4 points
Anthony Porter 1 point

GT:

Jim Rose 24 points
Ken Jones 15 points
Michael O'Donnell 6 points
K. J. Jones 4 points

That is what I am hearing the this class is getting strong up north, unfortunately with gas prices being so high, I cannot justify making these long trips up north. I am going to try to be the driving force down here in Los Angeles and see if I can rally more folks to run this class/s. But who knows I may drop in on one of those trips to San Fran with the wife.

Hey what is the web site for more info on this track?

Come up next week for the SpeedWorld Challange. It's a two day race so would be easier to justify the trip from SoCal. It's not a BBR LeMans cup points race, but most of us will be running. We will also be running 12th scale.

See speedworldraceway.com for race info.

We've got 10-15 235mm cars and 4-5 of us have also have 200mm cars and will be runninng them in Fort Collins on the 9th and 13th. We have a group of 12-18 Vintage Trans-Am cars so this will make a nice 2nd class.

You can plan on a few of us having the 200mm cars for your November race. I might try and make the Club race as well as the weekend event. Need a Beardmoore Fix!!

I 've been watching the threads on the GT/Pro10 cars and it always gets brought back why no lipo.

First
LiPO is not the problem! The motors are. When the Brushless motors are wound higher than a crawler and still cary more speed than needed that is an obvious problem.

Manufactures need to ingore the rules for once and make a BL motor that works in 1:12 and 1:10 pan cars for stock racing.

My solution is just make a 480 sensored BL motor and stuff it into a oversized 540 Can. This will allow deeper ribs for cooling, would lighten the motor and reduce the torque of the motor bring the rollouts back where they should be 3.00" and lower.

hmmm. I have debated on other threads about mixing classes and everyone says it does not work. Looks like at least someone made it work!
SO what is the skinny on this...everyone like it?
You guys have a website?
