Boy if most of you guys just ran 6 cell 235 pan you would get the picture. With the crapy batteries and slow stock motors we were still to fast, and you don't seem to get it. We ran these cars exclusivly outdoors on asphalt and now we are trying to run them on carpet with much better power systems and tight indoor tracks at 200MM and you think it will be to slow I don't want this class of racing to dissapear because guys want to go fast and can't handle the power, we need to start out slower to be fast with this new class of racing.
The racers that have raced 235MM pan know what there talking about just listen, it will save you money

17.5 or 21.5 would be fine with me. I just want to be able to run lipo and not have to buy a special 4cell pack just for one car. Im afraid that if it stays 4 cell it will just be 1/12 guys running them.

My thoughts exactly. I'm already seeing where guys are using 10.5 with lipo and complaining about the lack of grip with gt bodies and the car being out of control.

We have guys with 4 cell and 13.5 having no problems getting around the track. If you want to run Pro10 mod, more power to you.

4 cell and 13.5 I think is ok. I do not have one of these cars yet but would like to get one. I do not want to have to go back to nimh though. Myself and a couple other guys that race here are trying to work out what would be pretty equal to the 4 cell setup using a lipo.

Here's my "new" 200mm Pan Car. Its built from an "old" AE 10L3T. I converted it from 190 to 200mm by using a wider right diff hub and spacing the front axles. Power is 4 cells with a 10.5 motor. The body is a TVR Sagaris by HPI

I personally would like to see this class go with whatever will a) maximize the popularity and b) be the most accessible to racers of all stripes without costs and speeds going through the roof. I would like to see a LiPo and 4C/13.5 with LiPo being lighter I would think that if there was a given weight standard the LiPo runners would have to add weight and that would equalize things

Am also converting a 10L3T to 200mm specs. How wide is the front end? What did you use to widen the front end?

All I can say is I don't want to run 4 cells. I am done with discharging and cycling packs. Lipo is here and it makes life just plain easier. I don't care what power plant we use. I am accustomed to running mod sedan so I think I can hang on to her, but the fact remains that the class won't survive without beginners. That being said...it makes sense to run 17.5/lipo. I just can't tolerate anything slower, I shouldn't get bored driving my car!

It depends on what front tires you use. With the old TRC wheels I have been running the front track is about 190mm (the pic has the kit greens on as they are more photogenic LOL). The Lunsford front axles are spaced with just one of the AE white plastic wheel spacer washers, placed between the axle boss and the steering block.

Thanks OD.
I prefer 4-cell, that way I can use the same packs as in the 12th scale. But hey, I run lipos in my mini.
Now if someone made lipo saddle packs with R.O.A.R. legal hard cases, I would probably use them.

That's why I started running 4 cell, I already have the packs.

We are running a series here, GTP and GT bodies on 235 and 200mm cars. You can use lipo 7.4 or 6cell with 13.5 motors, or 4 cell with 10.5 or 19t. Most of the guys running lipo have found that the cars don't handle until they weight the car up to the 6 cell level, which makes my 4 cell car pretty competetive. Same goes for the mini, it will handle better with a bunch of lead on the bottom of the pack! Why do I know this? I'm not telling!!

Our series here is really fun, with the GTP and GT running together. It's like the American LeMans series, with the 6 cell/lipo cars as P1 and 4 cell as P2.

BTW, to whoever suggested it, 4 cell 13.5 and 7.4 lipo 13.5 will never be equal no matter how much weight you add to the lipo car, unless its a cinder block
