Im going to get the new protoform and do it up just like my baby.

My HPI vette was done up this way also. It looks real with exception to the black wheels and foam tires.

Ran my I-Force for the first time today... even with a 7mm ride height it was pretty good. Couple of us just practiced using 4 cell/13.5. Probably wasn't too bad but it was quicker than I expected.

Default Speedmerchant Pro-10

Had a couple minutes to paint up my new test body for my Speedmerchant PRO 10. This is the HPI RX-8, and it fits like a glove.

Didnt have time to take it for any laps, but Im sure it will go as well as it looks.

Pretty cool right? With a 13.5 i geared it to the moon at 80mm with 4 cell and it was real fast and didnt get hot or lose punch. This was on a decent sized asphalt track.

Yeah it was!... we're going to have to look at the driving skill level of those that want to participate and see how fast we dare go. We sure would like to keep a lipo option in play though (4 cell/13.5 with lipo/21.5). Wednesday could be our first official race with these cars.. a couple I-Forces, DB10R, some formula 1 chassis, and an oval chassis of some sort. I few more cars on their way but they aren't here yet. Today I was running a Lotus Sport Elise body and the other guy practicing used a RX-7. I don't have anything to compare the Lotus to but it seemed to work fine. I'll get some pics of the cars up after our race on Wednesday. Next I've got my eyes on trying the TVR Tuscan Speed Six and the BMW M coupe!

Cool deal. Im glad to see things starting to move. Lipo is going to be very big if the speeds are kept reasonable. I think lipo and a 21.5 or a 13.5 for more experienced racers will work great.

A single class with the choice of running (lipo & 21.5) or (4 cell & 13.5) is under consideration at our track.

I'm hoping 10.5 4 cell or maybe 17.5 lipo ends up being run at Trackside. 13.5 or 17.5 4 cell will disappoint me but I'll still run it. Let guys run sportsman and a 17.5/27T or 13.5 4 cell with TC cars until they get up to speed. Once I get my car I'll be running some practice with a 4 cell and a 4.5 and will probably pick up a 10.5 as well. I'd like them to be a decent amount faster than a 13.5 with 4 cell, which from what i've seen is only a tick faster than a decent 27T 4 cell 1/12th scale.

We are running a very similar setup on our Speedmerchant PRO 10 cars as the setup that we have done very well with on our REV 5 cars. The things we have changed are a few things to compensate for the much longer wheel base. Its still early and we need to do some high bite testing, but here is basically what I'm doing:

Rear:
lilac or double pink rear tire
whites no preload
blue "Beav Jizz" on the tubes
Black center spring
45 wt oil
Batts forward

Front,
Lilac front
20 front springs
middle middle links
2 camber, 4 caster
standard TC JR servo

The most likely scenario is that our "standard" team setup wont be done till we get a few Laps with Dumas at the wheel. The awesome thing about this car, is that there are just so many things you can do with the front end. Several of us have tried some pretty crazy things, and its possible to get the car to screw itself into the ground, or be smooth and easy to drive.

Just finished up the hurricane race at trackside for 1/12th scale, so next weekend I'm going to go full bore on PRO-10 AND Speed Spec testing. Also hope to get one or 2 more bodies mounted up for some comparison testing. The great thing about running at Trackside is that this summer I can run carpet during the week with the PRO 10, and I have my Speedspec to start some asphalt testing.
