That seems fair C.C.

I think I read somewhere that there is a track that definitely wants to get a class going for the 200mm cars and with the Speedmerchant cars apparently available on their site now, maybe we can start seeing how these things do among themselves as opposed to having single cars on a pretty much empty track.

Got everything but the car

Hurry up CRC!

I'll be running 2s LiPo and a 17.5 to start. I have access to a large outdoor facility and a few carpets. The way it's going, I won't be on the track until mid-April.

By mid-April I'll have an opinion to share with you guys on this class, including any changes. After seeing Bruce run the Speedmerchant at 360 in NY last weekend, I think the recipe is going to work out quite well!
Keep us posted on how that goes man. If it does well there maybe people will try it with those rules elsewhere.

Hey to anybody that is trying to get GT10 going at their track:

You think you could put up videos of racing action? I think itd be great to show people a bunch of these cars going at it instead of solo testing runs.

Im sorry for taking up most of the posts on this discussion:

This was posted on the Pro10 class discussion but for those of you that have not been there, Speedmerchant put two cars on their online store, the Formula Pro10 and the SpeedSpecII, and BMI is planning on shipping their car out to those who preordered this week, as well as the CRC car going out in Early April so hopefully with the outdoor season getting going, more people will take these cars and put em on the track.

I just finished the DB10R instruction manual. Part of it was a pic a few of you wanted...a DB10R with a stick lipo installed so here it is.

What is the wheelbase of the old 200mm cars? What is the wheelbase of the HPI lineup of coupes? Are those bodies wheelbases standardized?

I bring this up because my HPI Viper #7473 is about 1/4" shorter than my old 10LSS. Adding to the confusion of my question is the aftermarket chassis on this particular car.

Here are some pics that Marty sent me today he is not finished with the 2 GT 40 HPI 200mm Bodies but you will get an idea of how they look.

Our Chassis is 200mm and is adjustable front to rear or wheelbase - I have not found a 200mm body I can not mount and make it look right, the cars coming out I think are all a industry standard. well unlike the days of the TC3 that one kinda screwed with my head

anyway its late just finished running the BMI DB12R and I must say What!!!! A Car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sweet!!!!!!!! Ride - Jason I take my hat of to you as they say.

I did 6 cell stock last Wednesday. I posted a video in the pro 10 thread here. Ran a HPI NSX body (Old design). The video I put was just practice after the racing was over but I did run it against stock TCs but w/o a transponder so no lap times and I wasn't allowed to affect the other drivers (ie: no overtaking etc).

Tomorrow night we'll have a heat of Pro 10. As far as I know there will be 4 narrow pans and 1 wide pan. I'll possibly try a different battery/motor arrangement tomorrow.

The short answer to your question is that nobody knows yet, there is little organized Pro10 racing at this time. With the class's re-birth the general opinion seems to be to run GTP bodies on the 235mm cars and GT bodies on the 200mm cars.

We just started a series (yesterday) for the class here and the classes are just that, 235 cars with GTP bodies and 200mm cars with GT bodies. Power for both is either 6 cell or 7.4 Lipo with 13.5 motors, or 4 cell with 10.5/19t motors. At this point the 235 cars appear to be faster, but I would attribute that more to the extra downforce of the GTP bodies rather than the extra width.

BTW, I ran 4 cell 10.5 in a 235 car and gave up nothing in speed to all the other cars, which ran 6 cell or Lipo 7.4v.

If the guy with the camera turns up I'll make sure he films something. He's filmed the mains on the last 2 race nights (although missed the C main where I ran my pan versus TCs).

I am so inspired by what I just read tonight, and I can't wait to get my hands on one. Will it be BMI or CRC.. Still doing some research at the moment, but great info on this thread.
