I would get a charger with built in balancing which can do a 2C charge. The Hyperion EOS610I can charge up to 10 amps and has built in balancing. If you do go with this charger you need the adpater board for our balance connector which is called JST-XH.

Be sure to read Hyperion's latest info about the order in which you connect packs (and their balancing connectors). The new firmware should minimize the chance of damage if you do it in the wrong order. I need to upgrade mine and see if it's damaged. :-(

Danny: Nice to see you come around to Hyperion.

Edit: More info here.

So the balance board that comes with the Hyperion EOS0610I doesn't fit the SMC Lipo?

Syndrome, you run a TRF416 don't you? Do you use SMC Lipo's in it, do they fit okay?

There are 4 different balance connectors typically used and the Hyperion charger comes with the board for there line of Lipos. We use the JST-XH connector so you need the adpater board for it.

Yeah, the 5000's fit just fine. :-)

The JST-XH adapter is like $7 or something. I'd like to find one that just goes straight to a 2S plug instead of using the board, since I don't plan on using more than 2 cells anytime soon.

Well in the type r this should work if we turn it to have the wires come out the front left right by the servo.

I am waiting to get a hold of some fresh lipos before vegas, so if mine is a top wire then i will post up some pics after i get it fitted. I have had a pair of smc since back in april and they are still running well, only problem is i had dremeled the case a bit (so they are no longer legal) before the steel tray to fit weight underneath more easily.

Questions?? ROAR's Approved list

Danny/SMC
I have a couple of your Lightning Volts Pack Specs w/Deans plug, PT#'s 5028LD but couldn't find them on ROAR's- Lipo Approved list. Was that an oversight on ROAR's end? Being that Vegas is here in a few weeks, I need this clarified......Thanks

Our 3200,4000 and 5000 Lipos are all ROAR approved but I believe there is a typo on the ROAR list. The part number should be 5028LD and not 5038LD. I will email ROAR about this typo.

Been running my 5000 all summer in 13.5 buggy. I repeak between each run at 8amp.

One night i [email protected]# the bed during qualifiy and BQ'd... We run bump up mains and i had to run back to back B and A mains without repeaking! No problems tonnes of rip after 12minutes of racing!

Lots of rip can't wait for Touring car season!

Danny

Is there any possible chance that I could get 2-3 of the 4000's with the top wire outlets this week for summer sizzler race? I may have to go to brand X if not...Orion 3600's are not making the full 5 minutes for mod anymore.
