Did the 4000 and 5000 28c's hit the shop today?

We got the first part of our shipment in today. We have a good supply of 4000s but the 5000s are scarce but the good news is the second part of our shipment with more 5000s is due in by the middle of next week.

We expect to ship cycled 4000s by Wedsneday to distributors. The 5000s will only ship late next week.

My first idea for a lipo warmer. Mainly meant for my 4S 5000 mAh lipo for my RC8. Had these Trinity sedan tire warmers laying around forever, so I looped them up and stacked them 4 deep inside a large Battery Bunker I bought from bpp. With the power supply turned down to ~9V, the battery gets to about 100-110 deeg in 20-30 minutes.

Guessing this is the external temp (measured on the surface)?

Guys
I am very interested in the 4000's but I have one big question hanging before I commit to purchase.

The main location I race at runs LiPo and NiMh together and I am wanting to know if the LiPo will be able to keep up with and beat the NiMh drivers assuming skill is the same. Assume NiMh packs are 1.24v/c, can these LiPo provide enough voltage?

(I dont want to turn this into another LiPo vs NiMh thread. These cells are the best LiPo has to offer at the moment and I would like an honest answer)

4000mah @ 28c = 142+ amps (VERY GOOD). As Danny has posted above. These new 28c packs are going to be "VERY" good. The voltage is close to the same, but the ir is lower and the run time is longer. This "should" out perform a nimh.

If your running in sedan I think the key will be to get the car to be balanced with the Lipo. If you can get it properly balanced you should be as fast if not faster. I'm attending a race this weekend where I believe we will run Lipos to see how they run. If you just go based on numbers the Lipos should be better as the IR is lower and the voltage is very similar to NiMh.

I haven't run the SMC packs (obviously) but I've run the Orion 3600. The pack seems flatter than my EnerG cells but the lap times don't show any decline. I don't run the lipo because the balance doesn't seem right. I will be getting the 4000 pack and making it work. Based on this thread, the numbers should be better than the Orion and definitely worth a chance.

I will post numbers on a few random 4000s tomorrow. So far they are looking real good.

Thank you both for the quick and informative replies.
Danny, can't wait to hear the results from the 4000 packs and if you run LiPo on the weekend how they go compared to the NiMh.
But I think I have been sold on your LiPo's.
Thanks again

Any word on if the SMC hard case packs will be ROAR-approved in time for the Carpet Nats (2-1/2 weeks)? Probably too much to hope for the approval to be done in time for our Regional (1-1/2 weeks)...
