Hi guys. I just got my first 12th scale today (an s120). I cant wait to try it! Ive been racing an s400 for a year now and got addicted to serpent quality and handeling. A carpet track just opened in southern california. I know absolutly nothing about 12th scale or even NiMh for that matter so ill be asking alot of questions on here. Heres the first;

The setup I bought came with a JR 3650 servo and a 4cell gtb. Just wondering if you guys recommend these electronics for this chassis.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=170343187586

also, has anyone used this servo with the fasst system. I havnt had luck mixing JR servos and futaba rxs.

I know this is more of an electronics question, but I figured you guys would be most knowledgeable since you are racing the same chassis as mine.

Also which tires do you recommend for ozite and is it neccessary/worth it to invest in a truer

heres a video of the track ill be racing at

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1pERwK-8D8

You got yourself a great car!! As long as you are going to run 4 cell.

The servo is the same one that I use and the GTB will work fine. Eventually you might want to update the speed control to a LRP SXP, KO Propo BMC or a Tekin RS Pro. These speed controls are program able and will provide motors up to 13.5 with better performance.

The only other real Issue is that 1/12th is moving to a single cell 3.7 lipo class. Eventually, you will not be allowed to use nimh batteries at any event with the exception of maybe some club racing. I am working on a lipo chassis for this car but a very good source tells us that Serpent is working on a link style 1/12th car. With a T bar car such as the S120, the single cell lipo will have to go on either side of the T bar and all of the electronics, other than the servo, on the other side of the T bar. Balance and being at minimum weight could be a challenge. How much of the S120 will translate over to the link car is unknown at this time but you can count on the chassis and the motor pod being brand new items. The front will proably not change as it is one of the best front ends out there for a 1/12th car.

PM me if you have any other questions about this car.

Hey Chris,

Try my setup from the snowbirds but with the stock front springs and 3000cst damper shock lube. Brian Rice ran this setup at the carpets nats in 13.5 and 17.5. His car was super good in 17.5 but driver error kept him out of the main and possible TQ in that class. He did TQ 13.5 against some tough competition. I thought we had that setup on the serpent website but I guess we never got it done. I'll try and get it up there tomorrow for more detailed reference.

Paul,

What are you going to do about a lipo chassis for the S120? I am in the process of making some CAD drawing to have some chassis cut out but was wondering what you are planning? Do you already have a chassis made? I would really like to run this car at the IIC but without a lipo chassis, not sure I want to run it. OD say's Hi!

I am not sure about a lipo chassis for the 120. If you have any input I'd like to hear your opinions. PM me. We have been pretty much working on the link car and let me tell you this thing is a gem!!. Hopefully that will be out beginning of september. I used to not be a fan of the link but this car drives just like the Tbar car, it does everything I feel like a 1/12 should do.

Tell OD I said Hi!!

Yes the snowbirds setup. Here is Brian Rice's setup, it should also be on the Serpent website very soon.

Heres a video of the track I race at.

I was wondering if anyone would have suggestions about rollout for a 17.5 on 4 cell for this track. All I need is a ball park so I can start buying pinions

The PRS website seems to be down but you can also get them from Nexus Racing.

Would I be able to go down to a 72 tooth and still have it fit? The smaller the better for me becsaue Im trying to hit a 3 inch rollout with my 17.5. Also, do all the PRS spurs fit the serpent 3mm balls?
