@Jason:

Well, love your comment on our car, not all manufacturers are that fair.
That shows me what kind of nice person you are.

And to be honest Jason....love your ideas too....at least two companies
that bring new features in 1/12!!!
See ya at the Birds,
Markus

P.S.: Everybody was discussing the one piece pod when the car started to sell.....and I have only seen one bent pod after a crash out of hundreds of pods in total...thats a good percentage :-)

So much corner speed that I get dizzy!!

New announcement from Serpent on changes to the S120!!!

http://www.serpent.com/news/12620/Se...-complete.html

Looks like they have solved both the T bar and rear axle thrust washer issues and new king pins will be available that have a set screw end; AKA, CRC. New kits now comes with all of the machined aluminum reactive caster blocks!!!

Well... I would give them some time to get the first batch of kits sold and manufacture the new T bars. The current kits come with the 6 degree reactive caster blocks and I can't imagine needing the others as the car works so good with the 6 degrees.

Default s120

Has anyone checked to see if the S120 front-end fits on any of the std AE chassis spacing?

Yep, I gave it the "hairy eye". 1/12th scale has always been a personal favorite class, so I piddle a lot with it.

12r5 chassis, off over a 1/2 a screw hole front to back and about a half a screw hole narrower, side to side.

12L4, CRC, etc.. Looks the same front to back, as in, it will bolt on. BUT gonna narrow it up about .05" -.1" (using the eyeball caliper method).

The real question is wheelbase. But it would be close.

So:
12r5: no
12L4, CRC, etc: yes, but will be a smidge narrower with a perhaps slight alteration in wheelbase. I'd call it "work-able".

And with prisms on my S120 now, I barely have enough thread to keep pressure on the front axle nuts. Widening via axle shimming is not an option with prisms.

Hope that's useful.

What about the chassis screws, AE 12L4 uses 8-32 screws where as the S120 uses 3mm screws. That would allow the screw heads to move around in the bigger hole and pull through the chassis in a big crash.

Some custom hardware would have to be made I would think.
