That is a good question.

I just bought a new Orion 3600 that according to Orion was approved by ROAR this week. I would hate to think my $100 battery that has passed the approval process was illegal because it didn't come with the NEW sticker.

i know in the automotive world i've bough parts that required certain exemption stickers BEFORE they were qualified. most manufacturers are more than happy to provide such stickers to early adopters of their products after they had been approved.

I believe the post on the ROAR site stated these packs without stickers will be grandfathered until 2009... but since I dont run LiPo I am too lazy to look it up again Just go to the ROAR page and check.

Ok I just found it again...
"Note: Approved batteries will be required to have "ROAR Approved" Label across the seam by Jan 2009. ROAR will have a grandfather clause until Jan 2009 for all approved cells at competition on the Label rule."

Dawn,

Anyway you can tell us who all submitted packs? That way if there is someone wondering if there pack is in consideration, they can know for sure and if it isn't call the company.

Although I can't tell you which batteries are being tested in our labs now until the results are known, I can tell you if a company has submitted yet.. and the above mentioned have not been submitted as of yet.

So, not weird they are awaiting approval... Got to have them before we can test them.....
