brushless: Rotor sizes~torque
hey all
i got a Q does a larger diameter rotor make more torque or more RPM like say a 4.5 motor with a 11.5mm rotor, would it make more torque or rpm then say a 4.5 motor with a 12.5mm rotor need some help regarding this issue Tx. M. |
the smaller the rotor the more rpm /less torque u get
the most used is the 12mm mag |
The bigger the rotor the bigger the torque. I have ran a speedpassion 3.5 with a 13.5mm rotor back to back with a 12mm. Personally I prefer the smaller higher reving rotors, for a 3.5 on 5 cells 12.5mm is the best comprimise of rev's and torque.

Torque has always been the relationship between the outer diameter of a rotor to the axle.
so the bigger the rotor, the more torque. |
thanks
this really helps M. |
Is it a function of the magnetic strength, or the weight of the rotor?
|
it's the airgap between rotor and winding that affects the motors characteristic
