yes, it has become very popular at my track. i imagine it will be a matter of time that foam will disappear for electric sedans. plus more tire life with rubber on carpet.

Yeah I really enjoy rubber tires on carpet. You get a lot of hold-outs that dont like it b/c it requires a bit more setup on the car. Id rather spend more time having to setup my car then all the tire truing, adjusting ride height, etc. Plus the tires last a lot longer for me then foam did.

that's why i like it. setup is more important wiht rubber tires. i still think carpet foam sedan racing will be dead in a year.

I feel like I've improved more (driving and understanding of setup) in 3 months on rubbers than I did in 3 years on foams. You're really penalized for bad driving technique, which is a good learning tool. I caught hell locally for saying so, but foam tires can be a crutch, masking bad driving technique. All the other foam annoyances are well-documented, and moving away from those is a nice fringe benefit.

true i bet half of the fast faom racers couldnt be as fast in rubber.

I also don't think that foam will ever "die" even with the current increase in rubber tire racing. IMHO as long as the foam cars are putting up better lap times rubber tires will be the "little brother" of racing. It does seem like alot of fun though and it's a blast to watch. Some of the cars almost seem "driftish" which is pretty cool.
