Adrian, what body are you testing with?
I will be bringing my Pantoura out of the closet to see what I can get started here in Seattle.
I know after our 24 hour enduro, and our Pantoura set the world record, more then a few people wanted to snag a 200mm Pan car, but CRC was out of part's, so it faded.
I can say a few things about what we learned in 380 miles.
10th scale foam Lasts and Lasts, we ran Purple, D/Purple, BSR (thanks John) on Asphault.

Protoform 200mm Mazda 6, Stratus 3.1 and an HPI 200mm RX7
Jason ran it with a HPI 200mm C6 Vette body.
The Vette was the mellowest handling, the 2 Protoforms were in the middle and the HPI RX7 very aggressive.

My new Corally 10X will be ready for our first outdoor race of the year a warm up for the BBR CUP I painted up a BRM prototype body that fits the car great. Thanks to Trent and Phil at T-Bang for getting me the car so quick and having all the needed spares in stock. Nice that they announce a car AND have it available to the public without a long wait.

Here are the old BRCA pro10 rules.
I think we need to come up with a new standard so all the racers and clubs have something solid to work from regarding car design, setup and body's.
I not suggesting they be stricktly enforced, just a guidline that can create some worldwide pro10 harmony
6. SPORTS PROTOTYPE - PRO 10
6.1 All cars must conform to the appearance,
radio and general rules.
6.2 On sports prototype cars the cars are based
on full fendered cars such as IMSA GTP or Group
C/WSPC, GT and WSC bodies are also allowed.
6.3 Maximum overall width to be 250mm (including
body). Wheelbase: Maximum is 280mm, minimum
is 228mm. Maximum overall length is to be
560mm. Wheel sizes: Diameter-Min 40mm, Max
51mm, Width-Min 19mm, Max 51mm.
6.4 Rear of the body may be cut out but the side
profile must remain.
6.5 Only one rear wing or spoiler is allowed to be
fitted externally to the bodyshell or chassis.
Maximum width - to be no wider than the body.
Maximum chord - 75mm
Maximum side dam height - 51mm
Maximum side dam length - 75mm
Spoilers may be added to the rear of the car to
give a maximum of 51mm cord length including
the moulded in spoiler.
6.6 Aerodynamic aids may be fitted to the car
below the bodyshell providing no such devices
protrude beyond the plan view of the bodyshell.
6.7 Openings in the body must be appropriate to
the full size prototype (scoops and vents etc) and
wheel arches must be cut out if the prototype
ran that way.
6.8 Independent suspension is allowed on the
front of the car with a maximum travel of 25mm
measured at the outside edge of the wheel.
6.9 All cars must have a solid or tubular rear
axle, differentials are allowed; independent rear
suspension is not allowed.
6.10 The minimum weight limit of a Pro-10 car is
1200g (1.2kg) excluding timing equipment.

There is a lot you can do.
Stiffer front springs.
Harder of softer front tires.
Less camber.
More or less caster.
More or less reactive caster.
Move the batteries fore or aft.
Softer center spring.
Softer center shock oil.
Raise the front ride height.
Tighten the diff.
Softer flex plates (BMI cars).
Softer t-bars.
Softer side springs. (Link cars)
Mount body further back.
Mount wing futher back.
Choose body with less front down force or more rear down force.
Do the opposite to get more steering.

For bodies just run what your local group decides it wants to run.
For power systems just run what your local group decides it wants to run.
Too many rules turn off novices and make racing un-fun. Just relax, race and have fun. The rules will evolve on thier own.

Adrian list of changes is good!
My method to sort out the front end is:
1:First change I make is tire change
2:Springs
3:Camber/Caster together
Don't neglect the rear end in finding the setup with quick changes when sorting out steering.
If you have the roll center kits, that is also something to play with.
Also picking a tire compound matters. I perfer tires that are dual compounds with the harder foam being on the egde. More consistant tire set to tire set than CA sidewalls and less prep work.
Also to consider is the rear tires. On my 1:10 Oval I am fond of the G2 compound on the oustide. That tire is about 1/4 Black 3/4 Grey. That harder ring adds many laps of tire life and keeps corner speed up compared to a simple grey tire by not digging or folding the edge.

I will say that letting the tracks decide how they want to do things is a pretty fair way to go about it. You dont want to have too much regulation for a developing class...I think that having a set of guidelines would be good and then leave some room for tracks to run it as they see fit but reward those tracks who do utilize the given rule set
