pepe. cool car. i .ove the idea of tinkering too. how did you get the battery above the tbar? and what did you do to receive the shock infront of the battery it's not too clear? any clearance issues with the pod over the battery? i'd love to run my batt like that but it's a no go in my car.. i'm waiting for saddle packs to be available too..

Cheers!

Velp next month is a possibility. The only date I can't do is the finale in October as the UK Bike finale on the same day.

I will get a passport form at the post office tomorrow

Thumbs up

Dam, I got a lot of work to do this spring, We are trying to revive pro10 here in the great white north. We have a 100'X180' asphalt track that we prep with sugar water. I have an Assoc 10L2, a Trinity EV10, a Trinity switchblade 10, a Pantoura, that I converted to a wide car thanks to PRC, an Assoc 10LSS, an Assoc 10LS converted to a 190 car, ( I spent hours and hours making a top and botton aluminum pod plates by hand and drilled suspension holes in the chassis to narrow the front end.) That was before the assoc 10L3t came out. I ran the 10L2 one sunday a couple of years ago with a Chamelion 19 turn motor I ran away on the touring mod cars and I could hang with the best nitro sedans but could't get interest going for the class. We did run the 235 cars indoors on carpet in the winter for a while, hopefully the narrower 200mm car will catch on here. I sure would like to add about three or four of the new cars to that list. Come on spring hurry up and get here. I saw one of the BMI prtotypes car in Regina Canada a few weeks back. It ran really quick with 10.5 brushless in it. Every time Bob Stormer had some time he was out playing with it. I could have tried it out, but I was "CHICHEN!!!!!!"

First I removed the carbon fiber tensor bar over the t bar. To give back stiffnes to the deck I placed 2 bars in the side of the t bar 4mm height(the distance needed so that the t bar wouldnt touch the battery) and attached the HPI rally battery holders to them. Also made the t bar 1.7mm narrower the same as the aluminum lower part of the pod. To hold the shock I installed some kind of tower, also coming from an HPI bag. Finally I cut and trimmed the upper part of the pod, and moved the entire front 5mm and made it 11 mm narrower to fit nitro 255mm bodies.

The rear pod doesnt touch the battery only for a couple milimeters.

It was such an interesting job, hope it works. On sunday I will see if lateral shocks are needed.

Now I see that designing a car is a major job, specially because of the aluminum machined parts. I only had to do 1 and it was a lot of job to make it fit exactly.

2 month ago I saw a 200mm prototyp GTP body here. Looks a little like a Porsche 962 but will have 2 integrated fins (?) as used with the 1/12th bodies. Maybe its in production now.

Up here in New England at RC Excitement, we have been running the Speedmerchant Speed Spec cars for quite some time. With the new interest in the class, Speedmerchant and Team Kwik both have 190mm cars. They both ran 10.5 brushless, and I ran my 10L2 with a 19 turn and 4 cell rocking a Puegot body. There is still some work to go, but this looks like a fun alternative to sedan. Just in case anyone is wondering, the 10l2, 235mm car kicked the crap out of the other two....

The DB10R is on www.bmiracing.com front page with a link to the Redrc.com press release.

We are really close to turning it loose guys...we just need a few final parts to come in.
