Default UNOFFICIAL AE L5 THREAD

I looked but could not find a thread anywhare on this car, so I thought I'd start one. While racing in Clevland, I had the opportunity to take a look at a prototype that Team Associated had put together. Have to tell ya, the mono shock looked interesting. Anyboy have any pics yet?

Not to mention that there's bound to be a discussion on the 1/12th thread here:

Are you sure it is an "L" car?

I am not the associated expert however I dont think that is an L. Wouldnt the batteries all be on the left side of the car if it was an L car?

That is one of the 2 prototype L5 cars. That car is the proto t bar car. There is another car, but it has some very different ideas involved with it and it was not allowed to be photographed. I believe that the T Bar car qualified 2nd or 3rd in stock 12th at the indoor champs. I may be alittle off on the qualifying but it was sitting 2nd after a few rounds of qualifying.

I am sure both cars will be run again at the birds and nats.

NO -- "Trivia Time":
The 'L' in the AE product line is for Gil Losi, who worked at Associated at one time (long, long ago), and he designed the original 12L... Then the 'L' just carried forward into their onroad and oval product lines. The Oval cars have an 'O' on the end (10L4O) -- the 123L was the onroad, the 12L3O was the oval, etc...

Is there any word on a release date?, if so we could probably tack on another 2-3 months lol. In all honesty, I'd like to see AE bring somthing new to the ring.
