So I was thinking if i could attach those inserts, then that would secure the battery into the battery slots on the chasis.
Yes, inserts come in package of 6 and are attached seperately.

Here is the link, last item on page.

I have two TA05s one with the tub chassis and the other with the Penguin chassis. For the tub car the only thing that would work is the inserts? Also for the Penguin car will the 3.0 base weight work or would I use the 2.5 side weight stuck to the chassis?

On the TA05 people were adding the 2.5oz weight into the chassis, then putting battery on top with the heavier 5000 mah packs, and 3.0 oz weight for the lighter 3600 packs and getting very close to balanced cars with just that. I dont know the difference between the Penguin and tub, I thought that this worked on all TA05's, so I'll need to check on the second part of your question.

Thanks Vdog. The penguin chassis is a graphite chassis simular in layout to the TC5. I think I saw a few posts back that or8ital put one in his car and it worked, but I wasn't sure if it was the base or the side plate that he tried.

I think it will fit if you remove a bit from the battery slots. It just barely doesnt fit or is a really tight fit if I remember correctly. I will try to fit it again tonight to see.

Kevin,

Is the total weight for all six inserts 1.2 oz's, or does each one way 1.2 oz?

Jaybee...haven't forgot about my Shoey pals...just keepin busier then I like. I found some test material that will make prototype a bit cheaper...I need to get a chassis from you and label the required access holes.

Total weight is 1.2oz, or .2oz per insert.

JCarr, it fits just fine. Not even close to being a tight fit. My memory must be slipping. The only problem I see is that, although its a nice upgrade, you will still be much slower then my TC5!

Verndog,
Any change of getting a lighter side plate? Im using the TC5 plate and my car is heavy to the battery side. Once I balance it on the electronics side Im overweight by about 20g.
