Exclamation Motor Brushes Question

Hi, i checked today the brushes of my new motor Team Orion 13x3, it has only 4 days since i bought it and the brush on the + side looks like have more wear that the one in the - side. Like a 1/8 in of difference prolly less but you can see the difference in size. Why is that? thanks

Motors normally have a harder spring on the positive side so the brush on the positive side will generally wear quicker.

That's pretty normal. You can use different spring tensions to try and balance the wear, but it may have an adverse effect on performance. The theory says that if you have identical spring tension on both poles, you will have greater wear on the negative side because electrons flow from negative to positive.

well i think both springs are the same and the POSITIVE side is the one that wears faster. By the way can someone tell me a good gear ratio for this motor ? Team Orion 2BB 13x3. To have decent aceleration and decent top without overheating the motor? something in the middle ok? thanks
