Heat is good but overheating is bad. Ling said somewher in the 100 deg - 120F is optimal. He says it's hard to overheat with a heating pad.

What about old school Trinity tire warmers. Just have the wife sew some elastic to them and you've got a warmer that can slide into the lipo sack.

What about if the packs were held together with a fireproof bag instead of heatshrink or plastic. Then have wire going through that bag and inbetween the 2 cells with an external connector, a heat sensor on each cell. That way you could have a device in the car that regulates the temp all the time, if the temps go too high it cuts drive to the motor like a low voltage cut off.
