I am the die-hard electric man! I mostly ADMIRE the spec electric on-road car: hi-tech hop up, low maintance, reasonable price and faster.

Nitro? No thank, its not for me. :p

I can see no advantage in nitro over electric. You have heard what someone tell that you don't have to charge batteries, their piece is BS! nitros still use batteries for the electronics. With electrics, you have a batteries that can be charged over and over again without end untill you retire, LOL. So you need to buy fuel for nitros. Nitros demand to tuned every now and again to run well.

nitro vs electric

Nitro used to run longer, faster, and require less maintenance (except for the engine and cleanup,) but that is no longer the case. With lipo and brushless, electric is just as fast as nitro, can run 2x longer than before, and requires little maintenance (except replacing broken/worn out parts.)

Electric is also quieter, cleaner, and simpler.

This is for 1/10 scale.

We should have our own Penn and Teller's Bull $hit on "Electric vs Nitro".

I raced with nitro guys before, and a handfull of them are very "angry" towards electric for some reason. I even had a guy say "Electrics are for kids that are too scared of the power of nitro". I think the fumes get to their neurons or something. The race director prohibits electric racing on the track too. :weird:

In all, this topic is:

I run electric cars but I race nitro boats. I have raced in the past nitro cars. IT has it advanteges: refuel and you go again. Over hte years we have seen improving batts and motors and today we already outrun nitro cars with our electrics. I think both are fun but both has advantages and disadvantages.

I like both, except when I finish I got to have a lot of housework to do with oil
