Default Lap Counting Software

Has anyone had any experience using the Alycat lap counting software. It looks pretty good at what they charge for it. But I'm curious what users think about it?

Or does some one find another brand better? Were looking to upgrade our DOS software and looking for ideas.

Alycat is in my opinion the best lapcounting software I have seen.

There are 3 clubs in the city I live that all use it and I have used to run a couple of the meetings at one club and it's great.

Very easy to use, flexible, supports lots of different race formats, text to speech, running updates during the race, etc.

I wouldn't hesitate in recomending it.

I would really recomend sticking with the benchmark in software, the Autoscore stuff has been around for years and you will find all the best clubs using it. My local track went with Jlap and that was a mistake. They have to call up there every week to resolve a new problem. The most anoying thing is that it does not sort the starting positions of the second/third qulifyer per the finishing positions of the first/second qualifyer and for some reason eaven though all the settings are right it always cuts off the B main at 4 minutes and not eaven the tech guy can help us fix it. I would really stick to Autoscore, If it can run smooth for 700+ racers at the snowbirds beleive me I you won't have any problems.

My local club also had a lot of problems with JLap. Not just the ones with the race length though. There were a lot of problems relating to sounds being played at the wrong time or not at all.
