Default Servo died. How to unglue it??????

I never glue servos, but in this case, the car was used. I was hooking upi my electrics and saw that the servo was glued. It's a Futaba low profile servo, don't know the model because the sticker came off. The thing is, I can't figure out how to unglue the servo from the chassis. It is carbon fiber, so I am not sure what is going to hurt it and what isn't. I don't want to break the servo because I would like to replace the innards. Someone please help!

Get a flat bladed screwdriver and put it inbetween the servo and carbon and turn it, it should pop off. Do it all around the servo, not just one side, it will make it easier. It shouldn't be too hard to get it off. Don't worry about damaging either, carbon is strong and the servo case is also fairly strong, you might just have a few scractches if you don't do it right.

If it is glued with shoo goo just twist it hard and it will pop off. If some one CA'd it in place you are toast.

you could use a heat gun to gel up the glue used . while using a screw driver to pry the servo from the chassis .. make sure you dont use too much heat...

BUT if that is CA Glue, the last thing you want is a heat source on it. CA fumes, especially when heated, could be deadly.

steam the chasis up side down to expose the servo to the heat ,when its ready it wi;; fall off this wont harm the carbon fibre or servo
let the servo dry out for a few days leave it open on a dry cloth

If it's CA, you can probably throw it into the freezer and cause the glue to crystallize. Then you can probably twist the servo and break it free.

the servo will spoil as it condenses.

Just open the case and allow the servo to dry out before using it and there shouldn't be a problem. I thought the servo was dead, anyways?

I want to send it back to Futaba. It is a 9550, so I don't want to spend another $70 when I can get it repaired for under $30. I got it unglued and it was shoe goo. I skateboard a lot, so I've got a bunch on hand. I seems to hold much better than tape.

Thanks a million guys!
