XRAY '008 Price Jump - now $489.00 - ouch!!!!

What's up with this? Anyone who has been keeping an eye on the new '008 will know that thay were selling for $439 to $459, now several online sites are selling them for $489.00.

What gives? Trying to take another $50.00 from my pocket, forget it, I'll keep my '007 and pass on the '008 for now. $500 for a bare kit is too much IMO...

I guess if people will pay $500 for a RDX Phi, then people will pay $500 for a '008. Pretty ridiculous how much the kits are these days.

With the recent ROAR announcement they figure we all have extra money we would have spent on brushes, comm lathes, battery dischargers, etc. So why not raise the price!

World pricing. Euro up, Yen up, US dollar down. Its just the start of many price increases across the board. Real world comes to RC, too bad.

I think the prices that were being charged for the first couple weeks were more of an error on the part of the seller (store or wesite) rather than a XRAY price increase. I have been seeling them for $479 since day one and wondering how in the hell those other guys could afford to sell them any lower.

It won't matter cause by fall the '09 prototypes will start showing up and your '08 won't be worth anything

The official price of the kit was not known until the kits arrived at RC America. Several online retailers posted estimated street prices on their sites and started taking pre-orders before the real price was known. Now you will see the real street price of the kit hit the retailers.

Please stop blaming the companies, the number 1 reason for the increase in price is our US dollar is in the toilet right now. Yelling at companies in Europe doesn't fix that, electing officials that will fix it does.

The weak dollar is causing hughe problems for Europe, and Iīm pretty sure it is tough for Asia as well. The one who are dealing with dollars want to change to Euro. All profits is disapearing, but US stuff become cheep here.

When I visited US in November, i shopped clothes. VERY cheep compared to here. Levis jeans is like 3 or 4 times more expensive here compared to LA. An Xray 008 is still cheeper in US as well, so donīt complain :-)
