Default FK04 owners...I need a motor fan!

I have been searching in vain for a motor cooling fan that will work in my xray fk04...everything I have seen clamps around the can or similar and won't work with the top shaft/belt layout of the 04. Any help is appreciated thanks!

I once used a clear novak fan. I used a stand-off that had a cross drilled and tapped hole. I attached the stand-off from in between the bulkheads in front of the motor, and attached the fan to the stand-off with one screw and a zip tie.

Then I pulled out the fan and figured out how to not over gear the car. After that I switched to an RDX.

That sounds like my setup now, but with a low-output fan that I really don't think does much. I'm looking for something that secures to the endbell and blows air straight through the can. And I agree with you on the gearing, but when it is 95+ on a black asphalt parking lot and a 10 minute main, it's nice to have a little peace of mind. Thanks for the input though!

team tamale made one a while back - and i think i actually still have it. I will have to rummage around all my crap to see if I can still find it. If I do - its yours.

Let me ask around here to see if anyone else has one too.

I bought one when I was running the 04 and found out that it won't fit. Another method that I used was to shoegoo the fan to the chassis right in front of the motor aimed at the endbell at an angle. I was using the BMI 360 chassis, it has a lot less holes in it than a stock X-Ray chassis.

I sympathize with you on the asphalt front. We were racing in a +95 deg warehouse.

Mcgoo that would make my day ...I don't think anyone produces them anymore since all of the manufacturers have gone to the motor/elec on one side and batts on the other. Thanks!!
