We will be Express Mailing the packs to ROAR today so we should have approval soon.

I did find this but he doesn't say if it's outside or inside the shrink wrap.

I believe the new weighted pack is only the 5000 pack and it's 23mm thick and IIRC 137x46mm

After a slight delay, the packs left the building for ROAR today. They are absolutely dialed. We decided to keep the tap option on the pack but include bullet connectors built into the pack for the main wires. The pack is 14 ounces so it will be a drop in replacement for a NiMH at almost identical weight. The lead sits in the bottom of the pack under the hard case so it is as close to the ground as possible. I think you racers are going to dig it. I will try and get some pictures and the packs up on the site right away.

Austin,

Thank you for a prompt and clear answer. And for keeping product development cycles short. We want to be able to order stuff for outdoor season, which opens in April. I assume we'll see the 8000 (for 20 min truck mains) follow in time for that ? Please ?

Dawn,

Major kudos to ROAR for making things happen in a timely manner with rules and product approvals. I had high expectations when you were wrote-in. Your organization has exceeded those expectations.

We should know something back from ROAR soon on the 5000. As long as everything is cool with the way we built the 5000, we should then be able to add similar packs in higher capacities built the same way. Of course you would not have room for the added weight on larger capacity packs, and I think our 8000 packs may be slightly taller than the requirements. I do think that we should be able to get something in the 6000-6500mah range to fit within the size requirements. The rule amendment from ROAR really threw us for a loop but I think we recovered well

I agree that Dawn is doing a great job. She has been really good for both the racers and the manufacturers.

By the way... We have named the new pack as the 5000 SS for "Sanction Spec" we should have the pictures and all the data up on the website in the next day or so.

Austin,

I hope it works out for you guys. If you can get a 6500mah pack out there meeting all the rules, that probably can be used to make a 20 minute main no problems and I'll be looking into the pack for sure.

Any chance of making the hard case 5000mAh pack without the weight added so it would have a lower profile? Something real close to the soft pack height but in a hard case. The soft pack fits perfectly in my T2. My balancing issue has already been dealt with.

I did check the website, and the 5000SS is the "Highest performance in the industry". I wonder if it is better than the new SMC 28C pack? I saw SMC did show the consumer the reading of average voltage and IR from their 28C Lipo pack.
