Hmmmm....

I am interested in seeing the ones where it's wrapped in shrink wrap. We'll see if they pass ROAR standards.

I ordered a couple of skins yesterday. How are you guys holding them together and how are you attaching them to the battery? Or do they come with those instructions?

Thanks

the instructions say to use label attached to paper you get
not sure how that would work
but the always sticky servo tape is what I used for this

Cool. I hope you get your "stuff" soon. I am curious

Also, have you got any feedback from ROAR on your hard case option? Good, bad, other?

If you guys are getting the skins to add to your packs... I would suggest adding some of their shrink to the order so you can remove the outer layer of shrink, add the skin, then wrap it up with the new shrink.

Or better yet... take off both layers of shrink. Just be careful not to cut into the cells.

Has Maxamps received an answer on their battery skins? I can only assume that they were not given approval, based on these factors

(1) http://www.roarracing.org/news.php the description shows a fully surrounding permanently mounted case including tell-tale for opened case; the intention in the rule is clearly to avoid "removable" cases,

(2) the most recent approvals 2/6 do not include Maxamps.

Nobody wants to admit if their first approval attempt was rebuffed, but has ROAR reviewed Maxamps submission and denied it ? Or is it still under review ? Particularly for offroad 20 min races the approval of quality 8,000 maH batteries will be important.

We are just sending them in today. Due to the factors you listed here, we had to rework our packs a bit. We have them dialed in now. I think you guys will really like them we have added weight to the packs so they will come out at 14 ounces, 5000mah, and completely surrounded with a card case. We will be Express Mailing the packs to ROAR today so we should have approval soon.

I would like to know the size of the MaxAmps 5000 and 6000 with the 2 new skin options, (inside and out side) The black 6000 just fits in my car at 22mm and I would like to stay with the 6000 when I get a new one.
On the MaxAmps site it dose not give the size with the skin options.
Thank you
