I've been running a 6000mah maxamps pack most of 2007. Yep one single pack, and it's still going strong .

Peak it up the night before and then just put a bit back in between races, if I remember to .

I find the hard case rules a bit strange though. I guess it's just done on a case by case basis .

Like the venom packs have gaps, and these maxamps packs are not joined at the corners. I'm sure plates with heatshrink gives excellent impact protection and I'd hope roar aprove this method. I bet there will be loads coming to the market with the same concept.

I like the adding weight option. We could have a prototype on that in a few days. Should be easy. We will work on it.

Will any modifications be needed to install the new packs in the X-Ray 07'?

Are the clear skins that are pictured on the site the newest version that you are going to supply ROAR? Or is there a newer version coming?

Yes. They are the same skins that will be provided to ROAR.

Default hard skins bad for lipo

Austin, I remember when your company's website said that a hard case is bad because:
1) keeps heat in
2) can't see if the pack swells
3) not necessary

Have you changed your minds?

Bill,

I have not changed my mind. I still think that not having a hard case is a better option. That is the reason that it is optional and clear plastic. Some people want it in spite of those issues that you mentioned. At least you can see what is happening in the pack if you use the detachable clear option.

I've been using maxamps in my planes, and one 4000Mah in my car. They have been fantastic. Austin, If you can get that weighted lipo deal worked out as an option, I will buy 2 new packs. As I understand it ROAR wants the weights attached to the chassis, not taped on the batt like I was doing, and with cars like the TA05, there's no room on the tub chassis. The weight inside the lipo case is a fantastic idea since we all have to make weight.
