Has anyone been able to get a hold of the new LRP Stock Spec X11 13.5 motors? This is different than the X11 13.5 motor. I know some who have this motor and from the list it is not legal.

I don't believe the modified rules call out wire sizes so I don't see why they wouldn't be allowed... I guess we would need to get clarification on this from Dawn...?

Is the NOVAK SS10.5 Pro Brushless motor part number 3410 approved for the Super Stock 10.5 / 19 turn class?

I see it's approved for modified but not Super Stock. Maybe I'm interpreting the list incorrectly??

Thanks

From what I am being told, The 10.5T motors do not have a winding spec so they will be considered a MOD motor. The so called "Super Stock" class will be 13.5T for future races. The 10.5T motor will be a "Super Stock" at the ROAR nats. As long as there is a MOD motor listed under the approval i imagine the 10.5 version will be legal.

Per the 2008 nationals rules and nationals guidelines, Super Stock class may have no lower in wind than 10.5 for competition in 2008. And, 19T brushed motors can be used in the Super Stock class.

For 2009 and beyond, the Super Stock class is 13.5 only, no brushed.

The list reflects 10.5 as modified as those motors fall under the modified rules and specifications. ROAR is allowing 10.5 in the super stock class this year only as a transition into brushless motors into this class only.

Kyle is right, as long as their is a modified counterpart on the list from a MFG, the 10.5 is legal. Although, to ensure everybody understands this, we are requesting 10.5's be submitted so we are able to data log the inductance readings and post them on the list to avoid confusion.

(looks like we failed the no confusion part... LOL)

Dawn,

Thanks for the clarification on the "mod is mod" ruling... I just have one thing to clear up so that it doesn't come up later...

The listing refers to our motors as "bare aluminum with purple ring" ... Our lightweight motor line comes with a blue band and we also sell aftermarket blue and black rings... All of which are cosmetic only.

I just want to make sure someone at the race doesn't get caught up on the color of a costmetic ring and cause us all an un-needed headache.

Steve - thanks... and yep, that would cause a huge headache. I believe that was the description and listing that has been on the list since 2005. We just created a new list for Brushless separated from brushed and moved over the exact listings and descriptions as has been in place. Mostly because I got tired of reading all the motors to find what I wanted...LOL

If the description has changed, please send an email to David Lee, [email protected] , so we can make that change if applicable and per the rules. (Or have Bob send it.)

Thanks for the heads up....
