The BL motor list to be posted later today: - Hacker has one submitted and approved not reflected on this list as well and there is a one more Novak. Also, please check the website for a news announcement regarding conditional approvals on motors based on induction readings and the published rules.

Please be patient, this has been a process that has taken our entire attention for several weeks.

thanks!
Dawn

Does that mean more motors will be approved for carpet nats from more manufacturers, or is it looking like Novak and possibly Hacker and one other company only?

I'm anticipating two other companies.... but can't say for sure. For now, you can expect to see the Novak motors on the list and the Hacker one will be listed.

If I read it all correctly, there is and probably will not be an approved 10.5 for SuperStock for the Carpet Nationals?

I believe the 10.5 is the other Novak motor she was referring to and according to www.teamnovak.com it is already approved.

I believe LRP will have their motors done and in before the deadline. Does not leave much time for testing, but at least it might be one more option and I am sure they will be dialed.

Hmm, Hacker. I remember them saying they were designing their own sensored motors rather than slapping their stickers on a Feigao. That could mean a 4th true manufacturer of sensored BL motors being used in cars. I'm eager to see them.

Default Some clarifications for Carpet Nats

1. After reading the rules I did not see anything related to ESC's needing approval for sanctioned events. I'm thinking about buying a Speed Passion GT and wanted to know if it would be allowed at this event?

2. Several people I've spoken to that I race with are saying weights attached to a LIPO battery are not legal. After reading the rules i see this is the case. However i found the 5.2.6 TC Deviation On Road Electric that states;

"Any material used to add weight to a vehicle in order to comply with the minimum weight requirements for the class must be securely attached to the vehicle (the vehicle includes all electronics, suspension, and power sources that are mounted to the chassis). If such ballast falls off the vehicle during a race for any reason, and the vehicle is under weight at the post race technical inspection, the vehicle will be disqualified for that run."

Does this mean weight can be attached the battery for Touring cars?

Thanks you in advanced for clarification.

Default Novak 13.5 Orange Can & 13mm Tuning Rotor

Is the Novak 13.5 with the orange ring on the can the only legal Novak motor for the BL with rubber tire class? I have a couple 13.5s with the old original black rings.

And is the 13mm tuning rotor legal for the class?

Thanks.

Just an observation but there are no approved Trinity brushless motors. Does this mean their Team drivers running Mod will have to run something else or does Mod get a buy since it is sort of an open class.

Hacker motors are not Feigao based.

Yeah, that's what I'd heard from one of their drivers as well. That's refreshing news, I'm tired of every "new" brushless motor just being a new sticker.
