It would be nice to be able to open the package and make sure the tires are somewhat round. At the Novak race I had 3 tires out of 16 that were not useable.........the car shook so bad it felt broke

No! Its just that a lot of us have just recently switched to Jaco's, and I just wanted to state that we can not use our slightly used ones. Dont want anybody caught off guard and prep their new tires before the race and then can't use them. Example, I myself opened 2 new bags a week ago!

Gotcha,

Well, those will be great for practice... and nice fresh set or two for the race... As far as out of round tires, I am sure that it can be addressed with tech/shop to replace the out of round tires.

Also I'm sure all you experts already know, the Jaco Greens do not like thread lock. Aparently the thread lock likes to destroy the mold seams in the plastic rims. I guess the best solution is new nylon wheel nuts.

Lance72RC;
Just wanted to inform you of our efforts at Protoform regarding the ROAR body approval process. All of the 190mm sedan bodies we have submitted and re-submitted (because they were going to expire) for over a year now have all been given the same 12/31/07 expiration date by someone within ROAR. Why ? - I do not know. It's a question that has not yet been answered.
3 of the 4 part numbers listed with this exp. date on their "approved body list" should have expiration dates sometime in the year 2010. I suspect the same thing happened to the Parma body that also has the 12/31/07 date beside it.
(#1488 does not meet the Global Body Spec. criteria)

The #1476-01 has been re-submitted to ROAR for a re-inspection.

I know that is doesn't really answer anyone's questions but I just wanted to make sure you (Lance72RC) knew we've been trying to comply to their regulations as best we can.

Dale - please.. do not go through this here until we have solved the dilemma. It appears the rules are clear about the bodies and the expiration dates and the resubmittal. As for bodies that WERE resubmitted (the courtesy resubmission) we are looking at our archives now to determine the miscommunication in that regards.

The confusion must be this particular line in the rule book:
** GLOBAL BODY SPECIFICATIONS **
Bodies submitted for approval after January 1, 2007 must conform to the following dimensions illustrated in these diagrams. All previously approved bodies will require a complimentary resubmittal if no changes is necessary to compete after January 1, 2008.

I'm working very hard at doing two things at once to have a resolution today.

I want to keep the membership informed and will do so, once we have an answer as the ENTIRE enchilada.. ya know...

Lance's post #219 required and deserved a responce of some sort. Some of it's language was addressed directly at me and our company. Simple as that.

Dawn: We all sincerely appreciate the fact you are working so hard for ROAR.

I understand. I just want to be sure the membership realizes the GBS rules were in place in the 2007 rule book and have existed for an entire year stating the expiration dates would be 1/1/08 for all bodies submitted after 1/1/07.

This is not a ROAR issue that the body committee didn't follow through or do their job. This is a well thought out solution to a problem of numbers on bodies changing and ROAR not being aware of the situation due to lack of resubmissions. Good plan with good execution and loopholes were found.

We will do our very best to make sure the membership is taken care of. That is our only intent.

More later.. as I get some follow up with our archives.

To get off the body topic here for a second. In the 13.5 rubber TC class it states that any 13.5 motor will be legal, does that mean any rotor size is legal as well? As we all know all the 13.5's have different rotor sizes.

I would "assume" they would have to be ROAR legal 13.5 motors, of which you can run any. Don't hold me to that though

the 13.5 motors have to Roar approved 13.5's. I assume there will be a list shortly of approved motors.

I looked at the website and there aren't any brushless motors (13.5) motors that have been approved yet. Is there a different page that these are listed under that I am not seeing? So Novaks with the 13mm rotor wouldn't be legal and neither would the Lrp with the 14mm rotor.

That really cuts down on the motors you can run since many motors don't meet the specifications yet, other than Novaks with the smaller rotor and the SPassions. Not sure about the Vortex or Trinity.
