Or... you could check the ROAR product approval list on the ROAR website in the event I'm not here every day. I would hate to be the cause of not getting the information here but it's always on the ROAR website as soon as it happens.

Default Stock Motor Clarification needed

OK, I thought I read this but just want to verify:

Stock Sedan is a "Run whatcha brung" in terms of motors, as long as it's ROAR legal, and it's not a handout event. But we're going to be limited to 3 motors? Did I read that right? What sense does that make? And what constitutes a "Checked-in" motor? Is it just the can? So I can change armatures as many times as I'd like? I guess I don't understand the logic to limiting the number of "checked-in" stock motors if it's not a handout race?

I understand that. But in the first posting it says you can bring your own motors and have them inspected and approved to use. My question is since it's not a handout motor and "outside" motors are being allowed, why limit at all? Or am I misinterpreting the way the motor rules are and you must buy the motor at the event?

You don't have to buy any motors at the event. You just have to check them in and have them tagged before you can use them in competition. This is basically for ease of teching.

I can't officially speak for the roar people, but I imaging checking in a motor means tagging the arm and the can, just like it would be done at a handout race, so...no you can't keep swapping out the arms and all that.

I think the idea behind limiting the amount of motors you can use is to compromise between the spirit of handout motors and a free for all.

FroBoy ....... you have it right. The spirit of what was done in "Handout Race" rules was the basiss for the "Controlled Motor" rules. Tech will consist of tagging of arms and/or cans. No swapping of arms and cans allowed. You can only run the 3 BL or BR motors registered to you.
