Since you are all signed up for automated updates at www.2008roarnats.com, I'm sure this is old news. Another hotel added with a special rate.... brand new, very close to the track. Check out the website (hotel information) for details!

I don't know if this hotel is listed, but the Doubletree guest suites is about 10 minutes away and is awesome and has a great price! So for those maybe bringing family or just want a little luxury...this is the place!

The casino boats in Council Bluffs might be an option for some also. A little more of a drive, 15 - 20 minutes (all interstate). Really anyplace in Omaha would work... even the farthest hotel away from the track would only be about 20 minutes. The ones listed are the closest and offering special rates, you can be at the track in 5 minutes, tops.

I have a question about this lipo charging rule.
8.3.1.7.3 All Lithium Polymer packs used for motor power must be charged inside a “Lipo Sack”
or similar fire mitigation device proven to withstand a minimum of an 8.4v 5000mah
Lithium Polymer pack failing destructively without showing external flame.

Ok on www.liposack.com it says they are ROAR approved but couldn't find anything about what the sacks are rated at. So I guess if they say they are ROAR approved and the rule states "lipo sack" they are ok.

www.batterybunker.com - quote from website
Question: What size and capacity are safe to charge in the Battery Bunker?
Answer: Suggested maximum capacity 2,100 mAh 11.1volt LiPo battery for the 5" size Battery Bunker and 4000 mAh 11.1volt LiPo battery for the 7" size.

So is the 7" size ok?

Ceramic or clay flower pots? Cinder blocks? Ammo boxes? Fire safes? What options do we have?

the options you have are stated in the rules...

but, clay pots, lipo bunkers, etc.. are fine.. just as long as your charging in something that follows the spirit of the rule.... of course, each host will look at this differently. AT events I'm at.. I'm going to check that people are using some kind of safety barrier when charging lipos.... thats the spirit of what we are doing.

Are you by any chance using Mozilla or Safari? When I used those, the Spektrum logo was HUGE and covered it up, when I tried IE, it showed up fine..

padaily: I thought this might help as well...
http://www.roarracing.com/downloads/...ipo_Reader.pdf

also - I just emailed the lipo charging sack website and asked them to change their wording from ROAR Approved to as per ROAR rules as charging sacks are not approved products (bodies, motors, batteries). Unless we want to create a system for testing for charging barriers - which is expensive, I think we can pay attention that people using lipos are using the required safety precautions in this day and age of new technology use and approval by ROAR.

Dawn, as ROAR gets Brushless motors and LiPo batteries approved can you list what those are here? Perhaps make that an updatable thread sticky?
