Anybody drive this car?

Lets share about the setting and performance of KX-1!
thx!!!
do u think this car is too much steeling?(over steeling)

seaball 12-19-2001 02:41 AM

stanley,
the kyosho thread on this board is mostly for the kx-one. check it out. it's pretty slow though. oh, and i have a kx, but i still haven't run it as i am waiting on a diff for the front. i'll let ya know.

Colossus 12-19-2001 01:13 PM

BTW FYI

its steering not steeling

kitracer 12-19-2001 07:24 PM

Make sure you have 2 degree toe-in on the rear. The first batch of KX one have only 1 rear toe-in.
If you want to race this car, you need to glue the servo saver. the spring that came with the kit is too weak so it will react slower than your servo. That's why some people find the car over steer. But becareful, now you don't have a saver to protect your servo.

This car is one of the most efficient car. Test with your motor checker with a 540 motor and using 3.6v. You will see low amps draw compare to other belt drive. Also gear this car higher than your other car by about one motor pinion (48 pitch)

hope it helps

interesting about the toe. what percentage of drivers use a rigid servo horn? i bought a kinbrough and it's a bit stiffer. i was thinking it would work. maybe? i'm running a 9303, so it should be ok if i omit the saver. what'd ya think?

by the way, i just installed a diff up front, so i'm ready to rock. can't wait. i've had the car for about a month, but was afraid to run the one way untill someone figures out just what's tearing it up. i'm running tons of droop right now, so that can't help it.

about servo saver!!

HI ! Kitracer........ thx for ur help! Have u change the other brand servo saver? which saver can be suitable? I hate the original saver very much! i dont want to glue it!

kitracer 12-20-2001 01:38 AM

Stanley , Go look at Chiu's car for more details, international hobby. He's got the Kyosho semi prototype car so you can copy their tricks.

I haven't tried any other saver yet.

this thread's got some activity. nice. keep up the good work.

broken chassis

Have anybody broke kx-one chassis ?
I have two times broke my chassis
Kx-one's chassis seems very strong but have some very weak point.
The from and rear suspension arm holder , the chassis will break from here when have big impact.
It looks like the suspension arms are strong then the chassis ,so the chassis broke.
The under of the chassis all the line are the weak point.
Anyway to strength it ?
Kyosho have a new optional part KXW010 seems to strength something ,but I don't understand japaness (no pic)
Anybody knows?

By the way kx-one's server saver is really too soft.
You can see the wheel direction is not what you desired when in a turn.
Must to change it ,you'll feel more direct to steering.( I use dean )

The from onyway , TECH has 6mm oneway ,but I cann't buy it at here.
But you can only buy only oneway bearings to replace ,it is much cheaper (only US.$5 for one) it is made by Germany (INA).
