Perhaps i am going to make special body posts to get it lower at the front

Doesn't look too high to me. The front isn't supposed to look exactly like the rear on the Datsun due to the fenders being lower on the rear. The front and rear wheel wells are supposed to be different heights.

Plenty of choice:

If you want steel. RW Racing. Very high quality, much better than Robinson Racing. Harder, smoother and lighter. 10~30 teeth.
Also steel (but RW gots my vote). Tobee Craft. 14~34 teeth.

If you want aluminium Square 24~29 teeth. Kawada 12~28 teeth. (Square gets my vote but unusable becouse only starting at 24t)

HPI have it from 20~35 teeth but I don't know their material.

I'd like to buy another one but it's expensive if it's going to fail again.

So, can anyone help with the pitch?

Thanks very much for the tire size info. Very helpful to know.
I know of other people who have stripped the thread on the hardened aluminium tamiya pinions. Including myself

For me strangely it stripped when i undid the grub screw to put the pinion on another car.

Hey Barry, did you ever find that diff screw you needed? I used the TRF416 diff screw that sidecarphil suggested and it works great! The 416 screw includes the metal T nut instead of the plastic one in the ball diff kit.

Allways room for improvement. I wonder if this works.

Thanks to everyone who replied!

I will get an RW one.

RE the M05 rear alu upright. I have the 1.5 deg one on my pro. Are there alu Tamiya versions of 0 deg? Or only plastic?

I had ALOT of pleasure driving my M05 during Saturdays last winter carpet race. I lowered it to 2mm and 1 - it did touch often - and for the first time ever I could corner everything except a full U turn at full throttle. It was a fantastic feeling.

Tamiya do an alloy 0 degree upright: 53380 TG10 Aluminum Rear Upright Set.
It will fit an M03/M04/M05 no problem.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think it uses 1150 bearings.

Tony's is the HW 13T faster than Team Orion's 19T? In TITC, that motor was crazy fast!

Stock M03 kits come with 0 degree plastic rears. TL01 upgrade rear uprights are toe in plastic as is the stock M03M ones. Not sure if they are 1.5 degree or 2.

Not sure, TITC was unrestricted gearing too so that would also make a difference in itself.

I'm sure Cannon will read this and be able to give a fair idea of a comparison between the two systems.

Hey... I have a m05 and have broken one of the stock dogbone driveshafts.... One of the pins snapped off... I don't really want I pay the 40 bucks my lhs wants for the upgaded universal shafts.... And I can't get the stock driveshafts through my lhs. What can I use as diveshafts? Is there any other option other than the stock or upgraded ones?
